Hurley Malibu Cruiser Single Speed Bicycle

Bought this in time to have it when I got home. It made it a day early, shipping speed was ideal!However upon unboxing, the way the parts were zip tied together, the front fender was bent, not beyond fixable, but a pain to fix none the less, same with the rear fender. The flower as pictured was missing, kinda like it was forgot on a table somewhere. The kickstand is to long like mentioned in another review so when attempting to use it, the bike kinda slow motion falls over. All in all, was it worth the almost $300 no. Would I compare it to the $99 beach cruiser at Walmart with a different color and logo, ABSOLUTELY.Assembly was pretty simple, other than having to fix the fenders and the kickstand.

I'd say give this bike a hard pass. Daughter wanted a new beach cruiser style bike for her b-day. Did a bunch of looking at the big box stores in the $250 range and found this one on Amazon. Knew it would check all the boxes for her. What a disappointment. Handle bar grip was cut from being packed against the wheel spokes. Front fender was badly bent, rear wheel/tire was installed backwards (rotation of tire tread is shown on the tires). Assembled the bike and also realized the kick stand is about 2" to long. Had to remove the rubber stopper on the end and cut the steel tube down. Bike wouldn't even stand upright with the kickstand down at its original length. The lower case bearings were extremely dry and noisy. The rear hub was tighted too tight and made an awful clicking noise. Fortunately i know enough about bikes that I was able to disassemble the entire bike and make it almost good. Amazon did refund my money in full. The bike has great potential, but the quality control from the factory is absolutely horrendous! Unless you have some good tools and are able to disassemble the case and repack some dry bearings, do some sheetmetal straitening, cut down the kicksatnd, replace the grips (maybe a packaging issue with mine) etc. then this is probably not the bike for you.

I bought this for my wife so she could join me on bike rides now that the weather is getting warm. We were slightly apprehensive about assembling it ourselves, but it turned out to be quite easy - if you can put together medium-sized items from Ikea, this will be easy as pie. The instructions are clear and all tools are included.It took us less than an hour to assemble it and we were off for an evening ride. It was exactly the experience we were looking for - a pleasant, comfortable ride around the neighborhood without any fuss. The bike held up beautifully and my wife loved how comfortable it was. By the way - she's only 5 feet tall, and fits on the bike just fine. We've both taken it out several times since then.I should also point out that despite the affordable price, the bike looks and feels very solidly-made. Even the wheel covers are made of metal, not plastic. It's a good-looking bike and doesn't look "cheap" whatsoever.At the end of the day, we love how simple and yet sturdy the bike is. Being a single-speed, there's no worry about having to deal with gear shifts and all that. Just get on the bike and ride like you did when you were a kid. Happy riding!

With a few modifcations, I made this a great birthday present for my husband..he's an old goat of 68 so a few accessories and changes were required. Bought a front basket and ordered a new wider cushy butt seat..and now it's perfect..just realized the color is perfect too...matches the house! Haha! We live on unpaved rural country roads and this bike handles the hard packed roads just fine. These are the bikes of our youth that are easy to maintain without any complicated gears, hand brakes etc.I have included the pics of the add ons I also bought to complete and customize this bike to his needs. He loves it. * A side note..I am aware that the kickstand is way too long to park this bike on hard surfaces, but since we're mostly grass and dirt, it's not an issue and I have left it as is but can see where that is a problem for the urban bike owner.

My son got this bike for his 13th birthday. However a day after riding it, the kickstand broke. Don't get me wrong, he loves the bike and rides it daily. We now have to spend more $ to replace the broken part.Easy ride, sturdy frame, but cheap plastic.

It’s a beautiful bike. The only problem I’m having like another review I read is that the rear hub is making a grinding noise. I’m now worried this will go out like the other reviewers did.

I should have took the time to read the reviews when I bought the bike the fender was dented I talked to them and they said they'd send me a replacement that's two months ago took the bike out for a ride yesterday the second time I've taken it out and the rear hub COG sprocket turns freely will not even turn the rim it just free spins forward and back I've been arguing with the manufacturer and with the people on Amazon and I'm gotten nowhere they told me to take it to a bike store to have someone look at it when I can totally tell them what's wrong with it and I tell them who's going to pay for this and they tell me I'm going to have to pay for it so I'm going to pay someone to tell me what's wrong with it when I already know what's wrong with it but they won't believe me so I'm just getting to run around with these people whatever you do do not buy this bike I'm not lying the rear mechanics in the hub are defective

Bike arrived in good shape and relatively easy to assemble. As mentioned in other reviews, the kickstand is too long for the bike. Good quality seat and nice handlebar position. Light compared to other steel bikes but not aluminum frames.
