Good price for older model
Amazing performance considering this is the older model of the R15. I didn't want to pony up to the higher cost but am very happy with this version. I play Witcher 3 at the highest settings with great FPS. I've upgraded the original NVME (simple to do), added a second 500GB NVME and a 2TB spinning hybrid drive. I store my movies and music on the hard drive and have my games installed on the second NVME drive. Short boot time, good performance, easy upgrades. The only real negative is that the thing is big but I knew that going in. It's a snug fit but it does fit into one of my old laptop backpacks. The fans are loud when gaming but not enough to annoy my wife. I don't notice sound since I have headphones on. Do note that there is NO numeric keypad. Not an issue for me but something to keep in mind.I'm happy with the purchase and secure with the Dell/Alienware brand support. Drivers are still current and the software updates seem to be as well (Alienware control software). I also have an Alienware desktop that is even more amazing. You are paying more for the name, much like Apple, but Alienware is worth the extra cost to me.

I've used this laptop for years now. Don't buy it. Trust me.
I'm going to give this an honest review.I am a gamer, big time. I love PC gaming and this laptop seemed like a great deal at the time. Good processor, nice storage, nice graphics card etc.But it all fails to live up to the hype. When you hear the name "Alienware" you tend to think "top of the line quality gaming PCs" but I will honestly never again buy one.First, problem i noticed was the pretty lights didnt work. It was still under warranty so after two hours of useless troubleshooting, they send a guy over to fix it. The cables had come unloose. The second major problem to unfold was the massive loss of framerate. Why? beacuse this thing overheats....BAD. It practically melts itself. The processor gets so hot that the cores start melting. Still under waranty so they send a guy over to take it all apart and put a heat sink on the processor. The results were not very helpful, but ohhhhh crap, too late the warranty is out. They love to play ring around the rosey with you and not actually fix anything. So aside from framerate issues and cable issues and overheating, what else? The battery life. If you dont have this plugged in, you can expect to see the sign in screen before it dies. Thats it.SO aside from battery life issues, cable issues, frame rate issues and overheating....what else? The keyboard. They keyboard is made from crappy made-in-playdough land platstic and they pop off all the time. They are vertually impossible to "pop" back in, and attempting to pop them back in usually breaks the keys all together.Want to open it up and clean the fans? Sure. Just remove a dozen or so micro screws, remove the entire back piece, remove half the internal components, oh yeah.....its practically impossible now and now you've voided your warranty for opening up your own PC.This PC is just one headache after another after another after another....This is honesty one of the worst, most regrettable purchases I've ever made. I will never in my life buy or recommend an Alienware PC EVER to ANYONE.

Fantastic for the price.
So far this laptop has met all of my expectations. I bought it to replace a larger gaming laptop and I can honestly say I enjoy the features alienware provides.Display quality - I love it. I've had no issues with it so far. I've watched movies and gamed and had nothing but vivid colors.Graphics card - so far I've thrown a number of games at it and it tears through them. I generally play games at 1080p, but when games allow it I can run 1440p or 4k and it will downscale it to 1080p for crisp visuals. Works in games like skyrim. Speaking of games - I've run skyrim 4k, Doom, GTA 5, Sniper 4 and a number of other games at max settings and 60+fps. By the way...g-sync is awesome. My only gripe is the minimal USB ports. Normally it would be battery, but the battery is surprisingly good for a gaming laptop. Movies and light use will get me 4+ hours. Gaming about 1.5 to 2 depending what I'm playing.Would recommend this to anyone... p.s. love the led lights.Oh and get a cooling pad. Fans are on the bottom and it needs to be vented for gaming.

Beautiful and sturdy at the same time
Beautiful and sturdy at the same time, the lighting on the LEDs are extremely easy to customize and are very vibrant. Great packaging and arrived in perfect shape. I was able to run (Rise of the Tomb Raider, Witcher 3, Resident Evil 7, Doom, and Dying Light) all well above 80 FPS on High/Ultra. The fan noise is somewhat loud, but the pitch makes it pleasant, similar to a hybrid car idle. Heat dissipation is very effective, after running heavy games for over an hour it kept comfortablly cool near the vents, keyboard and palm rest. The only part that got hot were the bottom vents but a laptop cooler would help with that immensely. My only complaints are the Toby Eye tracking is gimmicky, maybe it just needs an update on my part, turned off. Also I ordered with one day shipping and received it in 4 days. Not a big issue, Amazon customer service was very helpful and issued me a full refund for the shipping. The screen is beautiful and one of the sharpest and clearest IPS displays I've ever seen. I recommend getting more storage space though if you plan on using for gaming or video rendering. 128gb boot SSD is definitely not enough, I recommend an additional 500gb SSD for gaming, along with the 1TB HDD.

POS.
Showed up broken, couldn't even boot past bios no matter what, made a Windows recovery tool and even that wouldn't work.
