Why does the sizing image show "XS" above all the different sizes?

My guess is that XS is the designation for 'extra small'.

Why do some people indicate that these are bad for indoor rowers like the Concept 2?

I would think your hands would sweat a lot using these and your hands would then slip.. I use the gloves to paddle in an outrigger and a dragon boat. I like the tactile feel of the handles of my rowng erg. I have much more control. I have a Concept 2.

Are these machine washable? If not - how should you clean them?

Yes, they are definitely washable in your washing machine. Just wash them with the darks, using cold water. DO NOT machine dry these gloves. Instead, put them up to dry by placing the glove over an object, such a soda can or water bottle, fingers up, and let them air dry. Takes a few hours but the result is worth it. I've been washing my two pairs of Horner Gloves for several years now, about once a month.
