will this cut through tree roots? i have a rootball in my storm drain

A video won't work for this answer - it all happens underground. This is a great tool for what it is, but definitely will not cut through tree roots or a root ball in a storm drain. Hooked up to your hose and fed into a drain pipe, water blasts out the front hole, pushing dirt & sediment forward, while rear-facing holes around the edge blast rearward, helping to push the unit forward, all adding water to carry off sediment. For the tree roots, you'll need a plumber who can run a cutting device into the drain, to cut that blockage away. Think of the Drain Blaster more as a cleaning device, and it's good at that. Thanks!

will this fit a 5/8 hose?

The size of the hose does not matter, the size of the fittings on the hose does! This item will fit a standard garden hose (3/4" MHT) fitting.

Whats the smallest pipe it will fit in

It's 1 9/16 inches diameter. Should work well for 2 inch pipe or more. It worked great for me on some gutter drains even at a lower pressure than rated
