Great Stories
I like that DC publisher set this else world stories during World War Two area and they have reimagined their DC character in this universe. These tales have a lot of lesbian over tones, but if the reader can get pass this element; the stories are worth reading.

Great Third Volume to the Bombshells Series with Additional Spotlight Time Given to Mera, Zatanna, and Harley Quinn
Bombshells Volume Three takes time away from the major series characters like Wonder Woman and Supergirl to focus on some of the smaller bit players who haven't had as much time in the spotlight so far like Zatanna and Mera. After using up all of her powers to stop the Atlantean invasion of London, Mera washes up on the shores of Ireland and meets her Bombshell-verse version of Arthur Curry before deciding to return to Atlantis to claim the throne she abandoned. Meanwhile, Zatanna has been thrown out of favor by the Joker's Daughter and stranded in a Jewish ghetto with John Constantine (sadly no longer a rabbit). There they cross paths with Catwoman, Batwoman, Huntress, and the Bombshell-verse Raven and Renee Montoya. The new resistance manages to unite the people of the ghetto against the Germans until Joker's Daughter arrives to reclaim Zatanna. Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn also run afoul of Joker's Daughter, though Harley rejects her role in resurrecting the Joker (seen here as a Devil type figure who is supplying Duela Dent with her magic). Eventually of all of our heroines wind up reunited and we even get the introductions of the Bombshell-verse Vixen and Mary Marvel. The book is a great read though, like volume two, it has a slow start due to another issue following the Batgirls back in America. At least this time Harper and the others (all riffs on Barbara Gordon's sidekick characters from the Batgirl New 52 and Rebirth series) are interacting with other big DC characters like Maggie Sawyer (Batwoman's girlfriend) and the Bombshell-verse Lois Lane (who gets an odd backstory here). Again the chapter with the Batgirls isn't bad, it just distracts from the larger narrative of the series and is especially galling after the huge cliffhanger ending of volume two that saw the death of Stargirl and the disappearance of Mera. Speaking of, while I appreciate so much extra attention being given to Mera, Harley, and Zatanna in this volume it is striking that Supergirl doesn't appear at all after the tragic loss of her adopted sister. I love that Bennett and the rest of the creative team want to share the spotlight among the huge cast of DC heroines, but that specific move was a weak one as I wanted to see Supergirl recovering for her loss.

Great Stories
DC Bombshells is fantastic. I love the sexy but not sexually objectifying portrayal of the characters and the fantastic art. In addition to that, the series and this volume in particular is well written with truly diverse stories that stay relevant to the setting while addressing the issues of the modern world.

THE BEST COMICS EVER
I absolutely love this series. It’s witty, intelligent, and powerful. It has the perfect balance of social commentary, epic adventures, and comical satire.

Starting to waver!
I loved this new perspective of our heroines, but it’s starting to get on my nerves now. Too many bits and pieces. I’m hoping it’ll get together soon!
