Amazing Update from my Popcorn a500!
I’ve been looking for a Popcorn a500 replacement for a few years now. The 500 still performs flawlessly and for 1080 and Music it rocks! But above 1080 pushed it to it’s limits and if files are compressed too much it struggles. So it was time for upgrade! Since the popcorn series is gone and there are many MANY options, I researched and researched BEFORE purchasing this. I wanted to avoid the headaches of setting up and learning a new media streamer….WELL I’m happy Happy and HAPPY with this!!! While it is different than the Popcorn Hour, it’s very easy to use. Especially if you have used the popcorn hour. The iPad app controls (with installing the Dune app) are easy! And reliable. One of the ONLY things i wish were a little better are the labels on the input/outputs. They are faint and there isn’t a lot of contrast. When setting it up they are easy enough to see, but if you have to move or change the wires it’s a little hard to see, especially with the other wires connected. Other than that, this thing is GREAT!!!

The ultimate player!
The media could not be loaded. If you’re looking to revive your dvd collection that’s been collecting dust, then this player is for you. It’s like having a high-end universal dvd player that doesn’t require discs! If you’re able to convert your DVDs and Blu-ray’s to an .iso file, this unit plays them perfectly. The picture and sound quality are perfect. And the ability to surf your collection with a click of the remote is priceless! I actually upgraded from the solo to the max vision to get the better audio dacs. Both players perform the same for video. I highly recommend!Lastly, if you owned an OOPO DVD player, you'll notice a lot of similarities in the cosmetics and build quality. Especially with the Max Vision. I'd bet money that some of the people from OOPO are involved with this company. And that's a good thing!

Good video and audio quality, poor documentation
This is just a first review, and I may update it in the future.I was looking for a media player to replace my old Asrock mini-PC with Windows 7 with the great Windows Media Center. I was trying to decide between this and one from Zidoo that cost about the same. In the end, I chose this one only because it had 4 GB of memory, and the Zidoo had only 2 GB. (There was a coupon that made them the same price.) This device works great for that.I didn't like the default UI and skin, but with a little customization and setting of favorites, I got something as close to my old Windows Media Center. It has no problem playing everything I throw at it. But I didn't test with any high-bitrate content because I don't have any. I haven't tested Dolby Vision with MKV files yet, I plan on doing that soon. It passes through the audio just fine to my receiver. The documentation is poor. How poor? Pretty much non-existent, either included or on the website. I was able to figure some things out on my own only because I have experience with this sort of stuff. The interface, while not to my liking, is snappy and responsive. No slowdowns. The included remotes lets you program it to turn on and off your TV. I does NOT allow you to program to control the volume to your TV, receiver, or soundbar. It does support HDMI ARC, so it can control the better receivers and soundbar. But still, this is a big omission.I do not own a Zidoo to make any comparisons.Overall I will say that I am happy with the device. As an added bonus, it works great with my old near-perfect Logitech Harmony One remote. A little programming and customization of that, and I am good to go!

Excellent
Stunning picture quality but the instruction manual could be a lot better. Handles 16 TB hdd with ease. Excellent.

Finally found a replacement for my Dune Smart D1's
I haven't done much after purchase other than setup for movie playbacks from my NAS. I had 3 Dune Smart D1's (they were somewhat expensive when new), and have a QNAP NAS system attached to it. After a firmware update on my QNAP, I could no longer access it with my Dune. Rolling back the firmware did not help, so I've been without my collection since late last year.I tried the Dune Basic unit, which was able to play movies from the NAS, but only did so with the Lite option, and for some reason everything had subtitles, which was unacceptable. I then tried an NVIDIA SHIELD Pro on recommendations from a number of individuals (it works great for NAS movies!!), but having to go through Plex to build up a library was also unacceptable. Plus, I am happy with my 4k Firestick for streaming, so I don't need another one in that category.Tried the Dune Pro Vision 4k Solo, and after initial setup (I had a lot of experience in that with my Smart D1's), it automatically found my QNAP NAS like the old Dune did, but with much better graphics.Playback is great on all that I've watched, so no complaints there. I got rid of my audio system (moved), so can't attest to what the audio does/does not do. All in all I would highly recommend it for those that want to read files/movies only.

Quality and reliable!
Pretty simple to set up after a little reading and surfing. Following the guidelines was easy. Not disappointed at all.

Plays ISOs
I bought this mainly to play the ISO backups of my blurays that have menus. I loaded it up with a large 18TB hard drive and it runs them flawlessly. I wouldn't use this for streaming as there are better boxes for that such as the Apple TV.
