Style:Bedroom - Wifi Enabled The Philips Air Purifier Series 1000i with True Hepa filter, and Intelligent Purification System, automatically monitors, reacts and purifies the air – then gives real-time air quality feedback via the numerical display and color ring. The unique AeraSense technology has been benchmarked against professional sensors to ensure it senses even the slightest change in indoor air conditions and then automatically turns the fan speed up or down. Its 3 filters capture 99.97% of airborne allergens that pass through the filter, such as: pollen, dust, dust mites, pet dander, smoke, mold, odors, and gases. The Series 1000i is ideal for bedrooms thanks to its night sense mode and convenient child lock. In addition, the Air Matters app allows you to control your purifier from anywhere and track your air quality.

Great but EXPENSIVE to operate
First, it works amazingly well out of the box. I was really impressed. Quiet and effective. Was actually going to buy another one for our bedroom, glad I didn't do that!Clean the pre-filter once a month, easy enough. When the AC filter needs replaced the unit stops itself from running to avoid damage due to a dirty filter. That time came for us after 4 months of use. OK, let me see about getting new filters..Not on AmazonNot on Philips own websiteNot in any stores in townThe ONLY place I can find that sells the correct filters is bed bath & beyond, online only. So $80 for the AC filters 3x /year and then $150 for the HEPA filter (I am guessing every 8 months or so, currently showing 50% life after 4 months). That works out to over $450 per year in replacement filters, AND you're still cleaning the pre-filter every month. This is for a purifier filtering the air in ONE ROOM.If I had done the math, there is no way I would have paid over $600 for one of these. And I find it telling that Philips has them discounted on their own website to $499 as of today. And they don't sell their own filters. I don't get it, but I'm going to try and get rid of this thing and find something that doesn't cost a fortune to operate. No wonder most of these positive reviews are from people receiving free units.

Phillips Vs. Honeywell Vs. Vornado - attributes I considered and why I prefer the Philips
I own this, the Vornado AC 350 and the Honeywell HPA 200; also, for a 5 minutes, I owned the Winix 5500-2.I returned the Winix due to Plasma concern - Don't get me wrong, it's a raging bargain, I simply didn't want to breath charged particles or roll the dice with a minute amount of ozone. Thus began the search for an air purifier with the same cool features as the Winix, without the Plasma/Ion thing, with a respectable CADR and that didn't cost more than $200 bucks. The Philips seemed to fit this bill...A few positives: this thing is QUIET. It crushes the Vornado and Honeywell for lack of loud noise. It's high - tech and automatically adjusts the fan speed to match the air quality. It looks GREAT - very clean looking and "Euro." To this extent, I was considering the Oreck, but it really does look like a paper shredder. This one also has a washable carbon filter, much like the Winix - score.Possible draw-backs. This thing is not as high-output as the Honeywell. The HPA 200 is just a total beast (but it's LOUD). That said, the Vornado AC350 seems nearly as powerful as the Honeywell, is smaller, and looks friendlier (and it quieter). If I only had $99 to spend, I'd get the Vornado AC350. Another drawback might be that the filters for the Philips seem hard to find, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.On balance, it not cheap, but the Philip Air Purifier 1000 looks great, spots super cool high tech, is crazy quiet, has a washable carbon filter, and is a great addition to my home.Note: I did NOT buy the wifi version of this - that seems hokey to me and is just something else to malfunction or break.

Have a teen? Get one of these. You're welcome.
So usually, I'll wait several weeks to write a review, but in the case of this product, I've passed judgement in just 5 days.So my 15 yr old daughter was having some problems with seasonal allergies, and I felt that she would benefit from some cleaner air in her bedroom. To that end, the purifier has had some notable effect on how she feels when she's in her room, and blah blah blah- it works. But then there's the unintended benefit; The first thing I say to her when I open her door is no longer "What's that smell?". The culprit usually being sports clothes or other assorted laundry have had their scents spirited away on a sea of activated charcoal filtration. My teens bedroom now has a lovely neutral scent, and I'm a happy dad.

Quality of Life Changing Product
Update: I’ve sadly had to knock a few stars off as a warning to my fellow Amazon shoppers. My electric bill SKYROCKETED once I started using this to the point I had to see if it was an error. It’s still a great product but beware of a significant increase in your electric bill.I've had great luck with Philips products. This is no exception. Air quality is one of those things that you don't realize how important it is until you improve it. Dramatically.I have the cutest cat in the world that can cause a real big stink. I live in a 1 bedroom condo. Set up was fairly easy, the app, not as intuitive as I would have hoped. Once I got it up and running I noticed how gentle the tones are, and how sleek the appearance is.I had no idea how absolutely clean the air in my room and bathroom could be. I would say smell, but there Is no smell. It's more of an absence of smell that we all get used to in our homes- nose blind as one commercial for a different product put it. I love this thing, it makes it easier to sleep, nicer to come home, and in short makes my place even more of a break from the world (along with the Philips Hue Lighting throughout). I'm glad they make 2 sizes as I have a smaller room, but I would definitely consider getting it for my living room with vaulted ceilings, just the bigger size.I don't think the internet connectivity is all that important

Own and run 2!
I own and run 2 of these, one internet connected 1000i, one not internet connected 1000. They work wonderfully and can confirm that the sensor correctly senses changes in air quality. The night mode is overly aggressive in switching the purifier into night mode but it still does it’s iob pretty well when it’s in that quieter mode.Works very well at picking up particles and surprisingly actually works at sucking up dog smells (not perfect, but you can’t expect much from just a little bit of carbon; a real carbon filter requires pounds of carbon to make a hug difference.)Quiet in clean air quality and ramps up to quite loud when air quality drops to poor levels.

DO NOT BUY - FILTERS DISCONTINUED
This worked great, but unfortunately they have discontinued this product which means you cannot find the filters anywhere. DO NOT BUY.
