Q: Can I use this for punch needle embroidery?

I don't know. I don't know what punch needle embroidery is. I certainly like to for machine embroidery.

Q: Can you use this stabilizer when doing applique on a quilt?

I haven't tried to use this with applique but it works very well with machine embroidery. I can't imagine it would not be effective stabilizing applique as well. With a quilt I would be careful removing as much of the stabilizer as possible to minimize bulk. The stabilizer is a great size and is affordable. I think you will be happy with it.

Q: do I have to use an adhesive with this when embroidering?

I would use temporary spray adhesive (the type made for applique and quilting) if I were not hooping the fabric I'm machine embroidering on, to attach the fabric to the stabilizer while embroidering. These sheets are small and do not lend themselves to hooping unless using a very small hoop. I use them primarily to add additional stabilizing; usually "floating" the stabilizer under the hooped fabric and stabilizer. If the stabilizer seems to "slip" then I would use the "baste in the hoop" function on my embroidery machine.

Perfect weight for embroidering towels. Good size for my Brother 4 x 4 hoop

I love the pre-cut convenience and the size. I use a few dozen a week, and this are always in my stock closet. For larger projects I have a roll of stabilizer, but the ease of just grabbing a sheet makes life oh so nice rather than wrestling with a large roll to cut a piece off. Worth the added cost by far!

Very useful item for quilt-as-you-go projects as the paper can be removed after the square has been covered with thin strips of fabric.

Excellent sheets fits my 110 by 110 hoop.

great stabalizer

I love this stabilizer as it affords me the chance NOT to have to stop and cut up stabilizer when I need to do a project. This item holds up well and is also easy to cut away at the end of the project. The price is perfect too. Will buy this item again

I would buy it again. Lots of flexibility.

Work great with embroidery on a 1960 machine and monogram system from 1969. Really nice weight. I folded it for book marks came out great.

Excellent product for embroidery

Very firm stabilizer. Really like it in my 6 x 6 hoop. Not sheer at all. It does not tear away easily, but I still really like it.

Love These!!!

OMG, it's so easy. I don't have to cut my stabilizer. One less step, saves time and money. I would recommend, but I'm afraid they will all be sold and I'll be out of luck when I try to buy them again, cuz I will!

Just Fine!

The stability seems fine. It is different from another that I had used in the past (this one is solid - the one I had before was perforated). Tears easily.
