Pretty basic
Underwhelming. While it cleans very well and holds a charge for a really long time. It only came with 2 heads when most other brands you get 3-4. Also no charging dock, only a very short plug in cord.

basic electric toothbrush, could use design tweaks
This toothbrush gets the job done, but has some design flaws. There's no base to hold the toothbrush between uses. The charging port is on the bottom of the toothbrush; so you have to lay it down to charge it. There's also no cover for the charging port, so I'm a little concerned about standing it upright and getting water in the charging port at least twice every single day. The charging cable sent with the toothbrush is super short and only comes with a USB charger (no AC wall charging attachment available). So, if you're a mild germaphobe like me, you have to get used to letting your mouth-germ filled toothbrush hang out for a few hours in random spots around your house (i.e. the few places you have a USB charging port, like your laptop) every few weeks while it charges. This is my first electric toothbrush and it seems super loud and has more vibration than I imagined it would. Obviously it has to have some kind of oscillation or vibration to do the job, but I feel like my brain is getting a massage every time I brush my teeth with this. I'm not sure how this compares to other brands. The toothbrush comes with 2 brushs/heads, a short USB charging cord, a user manual. Not too difficult to operate. It is set for 2 minutes of brush (but is easy to extend brushing time if you want to extra squeaky clean teeth). It also has a useful 30 second interval warning/notice, so that you know when to switch quadrants to avoid spending too much or too little time in one area.

Sleek but some flaws
Right out of the box, I was impressed and in love with the sleek and modern look of this brush. It’s very thin, compared to other electric toothbrushes I have used, which makes it so much easier to store. It comes with 2 brush heads and a charging cable.Upon using the brush, I was a little less impressed. I think the vibration is adequate and the bristles are okay, but the neck of the brush is kind of wide and makes moving it around in our mouth kind of awkward. I end up hitting my teeth with the hard parts often, which I’m sure is not great on my enamel. This does hold a charge for a long time, which I appreciate. But when you DO have to charge it, it is a nightmare. The cable is not long enough to adequately place it anywhere. It either has to dangle down the wall, or you have to set up some type of temporary shelf or system to hold it in place. Very annoying.

Had High Hopes, But Came Away Underwhelmed
For years I have used a Sonicare electric toothbrush but am always open to a new option. Since the Blaq is similarly priced and featured to the Sonicare I feel it is fair to compare the two as I would be expecting the Blaq to be at least as functional.Observations:* When I first picked this up, it felt light and flimsy. I don't see any signs of flaws, but it really doesn't 'feel' very solid.* The handle is quite thin so easy to hold.* The appearance is slick and the black coloring is a nice change from the typically white electric toothbrush.* When brushing, you can hear the brush change tone and even groan slightly as you move it around your mouth. It appears to struggle with having enough power to handle being held even moderately firm against your teeth. The variation is so noticeable that my wife commented on the sound when I was brushing my teeth.* The brush head starts to heat up while in use. I am sure this is a result of the way it vibrates the brush head. It is not painful, but definitely noticeable after about 30-60 seconds of use.* Doesn't 'feel' like it does as good a job brushing as the Sonicare. I feel that I have to scrub like with a traditional manual toothbrush whereas the Sonicare does a great job without needing intensive manual scrubbing.* Has to be plugged in to charge using a non-standard circular barrel type USB connection.* While you use a USB style charging cable, no charging brick is included. Though I have spare USB charging bricks, the similarly priced Sonicare includes a wireless charging base.* Using USB does allow you to charge this when off AC power via a laptop, car charger or battery brick which could be handy when travelling or camping.* This is noted as having IPX7 waterproof rating, but the charging port is exposed on the bottom which does open the possibility of liquid causing issues.* It has to be laid down to charge requiring a lot more space than if it could be charged while standing.* The neck of the brush head is fairly thick and feels a bit awkward when trying to navigate it around your mouth.* The brush heads have no cap so need to leave them exposed when not in use. This is how a traditional 'manual' toothbrush works, but it is nice to have a small cap - especially if you store the brush in a drawer or have curious pets that might decide investigate your new toothbrush.Overall this is a functional toothbrush, but does not compare in form or function to other similarly priced electric toothbrushes like the Sonicare. Simply put, after a few days using the Blaq I will be returning to the Sonicare. If it were substantially less expensive then it might be an option but at the time of this review it is roughly $30 and $19 for a pair of replacement heads which is very close to several other mainstream options. Not bad, just not special and left me feeling underwhelmed in comparison to other options.

Brushes well but has two annoying features
I have a toothbrush of equal value that I’ve owned for a few years and this out performs it on so many levels but overall I’m disappointed by the brush for two reasons. This toothbrush holds a charge for weeks. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and have not charged it since receiving it.It provides a deeper clean into the gums than my old brush and my teeth feel cleaner after brushing. The toothbrush has a two minute timer and every 30 second it temporarily stops vibrating so that you know to change to a different quadrant in your mouth. It looks pretty nice because it’s all black with one silver button and there are a few indicators on the front panel that will light up when in use or charging. So here are the two problems I have with this toothbrush; the first is that the charging port is at the base and the provided USB cable is short so my brush would have to hang from the outlet against a wall or with the head on my counter. This is so unsanitary to me and my toothbrush of equal value has a stand that sits in the counter for your brush to stand on when charging. I would have like it much more if this had a charging stand. The second thing that drives me nuts about this, is that there is one button that has multiple functions. It turns the toothbrush on, and every press after that rotates the brush through the three different vibration settings before you can turn it off. So sometimes when I am applying the toothpaste I accidentally hit the button with my thumb, but instead of turning off when I hit the button again it starts rotating through the different vibration settings and toothpaste starts flying everywhere. I’ve done this multiple times by accident and every time I’m so annoyed. I wish the button required a longer press to change the settings or just had a different button that would rotate through the settings. My charging issue and the one function button are the reasons that I won’t be keeping this toothbrush after I run out of the two provided heads. It’s not worth the trouble.
