Intermittent Sound; NOT good for AudioBooks
For someone who only wants to listen to music, this might be a good choice, but I am trying to find an MP3 player to play audiobooks.I had thought (hoped) it would be bigger, maybe the size of a cell phone. But it was much smaller. See the accompanying photo for an illustration of the size.THE PROS:While there is not a specific setting for audiobooks (there's one for music, for FM radio, for files, and a few other things), I found that by selecting the FILES option and navigating to the folder that contained the audiobook MP3 files, it would play those files, in order. I did, however, have to be sure the files were properly named so they would sort in the correct order.I was able to load a 13-hour audiobook onto this device with plenty of room to spare, on the included 16GB micro-SD card. The headphones they furnished with the unit were very comfortable - they have the configuration of the Apple Earpods that used to come with an iPhone, and I know from long experience I can wear earbuds like this for many hours without any discomfort. These are NOT the Apple earpods, however, because they do not have the wire-wart with the built-in stop/start/volume/mic controls.THE CONS:1. The instructions are horrible. They are absolutely minimal, they are printed in super-tiny print, and there's no indication (or QR code) indicating where you can download them or get more information. I learned a few things about how to use this unit from the included instructions, but mostly I had to find out by trial and error.2. The menuing system is set up so the selected item is ILLEGIBLE. I think it is white print on a yellow background, but I couldn't tell for sure. I had to move the selection cursor off of the selected item to see what it was.3. CRITICAL FLAW: When I was playing my MP3 files, about every two minutes, the volume would decrease to zero for half a second or so, then come back up. This is totally unacceptable. Whether we are listening to music, an audiobook, a podcast, or whatever, the volume of the playback should remain constant.4. CRITICAL FLAW for AUDIOBOOKS: When I stopped listening to the book, then came back to it later, this device failed to pick up where I stopped. I had to re-navigate to the folder and then figure out which track I had been listening to, then start that track from the beginning. There was NO WAY to fast forward (or reverse) through the track. Or if there was, it was not described in the included instructions, and I could not figure it out.5. The 5-way button is only semi-intuitive. For example, to move down on the menu, you have to press the GO RIGHT button. Really? I suppose that makes sense to someone. Not to me.Overall, I truly cannot use this device for listening to audiobooks. I'm disappointed because I had hoped I would be able to use it for this.Sadly, I'm going to have to return it for a refund. Thanks to Amazon for making returns so easy. I hope others can get good information from this writeup.

Sloopy assembled and very poor instructions
First the controls (volume, mode, fast forward/reverse) is at 180 degree difference than what the instructions and photo in Amazon show.....not that important other than to show the product was not made with care. The instructions are vague, poorly written and missing too many things. Following the instructions to adjust volume, it took me about two hours to identify that "V" meant "mode" and "M" meant volume because whoever assembled it put the adjustment disc cover on upside down. The instructions don't tell you what an elongated circle with 2 arrows means (I would guess it means "repeat" - but nothing repeats) and I don't know how to remove that symbol. While trying to figure out how to work this thing I found myself getting into mysterious menus and not sure what they mean or how to get out of them, and also going back to the first musical track in the middle of the song (nope, I did not hit the "<" symbol).I just got this the other day and a possible serious design flaw might be that when I hold down on the "play/pause" button the screen says "bye" and goes dark......but am I still using battery power if I don't also swing the little noticed on/off switch at the bottom?

It stopped working within the first 24 hours of use
The packaging was new, but there were minor scratches on the screen. It suddenly stopped working and I thought it just needed to recharge. It won't turn back on, and there's no sign that it's charging. After 2 hours of being connected, it still won't turn on.Edit: The backlight automatically turns off after a certain amount of time. The screen is so dark that you have to shine a light at the right angle to see good enough to navigate to the settings to increase its brightness.

everything i needed and expected it to me
I am using it as background sound at my office. I come out of the earphone jack with line into my music system. Sounds very good. One complaint. You can not leave it plugged in charging while playing it. therefore we have to charge it up every day at lunch. It will play about 8 hours then.

Useless
This unit is not at all what I expected. Poor controls make the unit hard to use, the battery took days to charge and minutes to run down. Sound quality poor. Not even worth taking the time to return. Dropped in trash can. Would not recommend buying one of these.

Missing Playlist Option
I thought the price and general features are decent. If it had an option for using a playlist, it would be even better. You might just have to put only the songs you want to play on this thing and none others.
