This book was easy and kind of magical to read with some twists and turns.This review is spoiler-free...In this book, we go through the life of our protagonist Eli who stays with his Brother August, Mother, and stepdad. He resides in a location where most of the migrants to his country reside were many activities taking place. He learns that his parents take part in drug trafficking and its process a lot of twists and tragedies take place.We see how Eli & his family fight through hard times and come to a happy ending. We see how Eli comes in terms with the loss of his only friend.This was a good read for me. I enjoyed how the scattered family has to back together. The book was also written very well.

This is such a well-written, engaging story, surprising at every turn.

Well written - I could feel myself in all of Eli’s adventures with him. Sad, funny and overall - wonderful. An unputdownable.

I cannot recommend this book enough - it's poetic and beautiful, yet fast paced and thrilling. It's been my go-to birthday present books for friends and family for a year.

One of the best books I've read in years!! A dysfunctional family and a boy who tries his best to be "normal", but fails dismally, not helped by his mute brother, and his family's gangster connections. Very enjoyable and a very likeable main character, and a very uniquely different storyline. Read this! I promise you won't be disappointed!
