I can't wait until USB Power Delivery 3.1 is commonplace. Until then, you are going to have proprietary power bricks like I use with my Acer Nitro 5. One of the problems you run into is the cost of duplicate power supplies (in case you don't want to carry one around all the time). Fortunately, you can get OEM-equivalent bricks like the SLRIOYS 180W Gaming Laptop Charger Acer Nitro/Predator/Helios Laptops. Mine was way cheaper than OEM, and had no problems running a fully-stressed laptop while simultaneously fast charging the battery. Recommended

I bought this already thinking a charging cable for a gaming laptop this cheap is too good to be true. I thought that if I see something off, i’ll return it. Never did return it until 8 months later, the charger sparks on whatever outlet it uses, felt extreme temps when touching it (hotter than the norm when running games and such), and i had smelled a burning scent coming from it. Ok, the charging cable is done. The green light indicator no longer turns on nor does the charger register on my laptop. I tried to reach out to the company who sold this since they claimed the product has a 1 year warranty, but nothing but crickets coming from their side. I don't feel like bothering to continue trying to contact them.I did have the expectations that this wouldn't last this long. More like 4 or 5 months. Still, you get what you paid for which is a piece of smoking rubbish that cannot last at least a year. Steer clear of this one. Try something else.

It's really cheap and works amazingly ! I bought one a universal one from BestBuy, and it was expensive ($89). Found this on Amazon, returned the one I bought from BestBuy and bought this one !

This cable broke very quickly with light use. Probably used a total of 20 times in 6 months. Do not buy.

I've used this a few times when traveling to charge my Acer Nitro 5 laptop at hotels or family members' homes. It's still working but I've only used it about eight times so far.I'll update this review if it stops working.

The media could not be loaded.  So, if you want it in a pinch, it works but don't think that it will last you longer than a few months.As I use my laptop daily for work and entertainment at home, just streaming and not gaming so I wouldn't think it would cause enough of an issue for it to not last any longer..?

After 2 months of use the charger began overheating to dangerous levels, I had to use an oven mitt to pick it up. Made a loud beep and stopped working. Do not buy this charger.

Charger stopped working within 2 months. Terrible.
