SO MUCH FUN
I have been feeding the hummers for many years and wanted to try getting them to eat from my hand. After reading that Hummingbirds actually recognize those who feed them, they come right up to you and learn your face before going to the feeders. The very first day I tried them the birds showed an interest hovering just in front me but on day two they came right to my hand and fed. What a thrill to see them hovering all over me awaiting the chance to get to the feeder. So much fun to watch and such a sweet encounter with nature.

Fun
If you already have an established hummingbird feeder (that’s been in the same location for 10+ years), and hummers are aplenty, these are a fun treat to incorporate. If your feeder is new, and your hummer population few, it might take a lot of patience.

It works and it is as amazing as you think it might be
Had a great experience feeding the hummingbirds by hand. We put them near our other feeders on the porch rail to get them used to it and then I sat out near the feeders for an hour. It takes patience but it's worth it. One star off bc they all leak.

A Special Save…
I purchased the hand feeders in an attempt to get closer to these wonderful little birds, but not one would land. Several months later a hummingbird became trapped in our garage. Because we live in an area with a lot of woodland animals, I had to put the garage door down that night with the little bird trapped inside. I found the hummingbird on the garage floor the next morning and he looked to be very weak and possibly dying. Not wanting to give up on him, I remembered the hand feeders. I gently picked him up and he cried, but I began putting his beak into the small hole over and over again. It took about 15 minutes to feel some movement and see the tiniest tongue begin to drink. After another 15 minutes he became much more alert and flew right out of my hand. It was a moment that I will always remember.
