I used this product for mounting battery operated smoke alarms on ceilings to avoid drilling holes/using screws. I used a few drops of super glue because it’s been my experience it is best when using adhesive products to hold any weight. I do not know if the few drops of glue were necessary. These were perfect size for the standard size, home smoke alarms. The product worked just like the screws the manufacture includes so it’s easy to replace batteries. I had the alarms secure on the ceilings in minutes without any hassle or mess or tools. In the past I was completely frustrated when I had to stand on a ladder, work above my head, to mark where holes had to be drilled then try to get 3 tiny screws in perfectly so the bracket would be level on the ceiling. I am not skilled in that type of stuff. I am so glad this product was available. This is for battery operated alarms, not wired ones. One of the best purchases I have ever made!

I had just patched and painted my ceilings and did not want to screw in new plastic smoke detectors. I decided to try these magnets and they work great. Super easy to install. The best part is I have no holes in my ceiling and if I need to change my smoke detector I don’t have to drill more holes in the ceiling to put up a different style/model. You will not be disappointed with these.

Very easy to install. Holds securely. One thing I didn't consider when buying this is that the magnetic plate covers most of the back of the smoke detector. Including the battery compartment. Not sure how it will go when I need to change the battery. I might need to put new sticky tape there but still worth it. But it installed very easily and is staying in place.

Super strong magnets and adhesive. I have a 22' cathedral ceiling that needed a smoke detector within 2 ft of the peak. Dreaded getting up on a ladder for this. Instead all I had to do was stick the magnets onto the back of the alarm, expose the adhesive for the ceiling side,. stick the alarm to a long pole and push it up against the ceiling. Piece of cake! Highly recommend this product!

I recently came to the realization that our old smoke detectors were likely original to our house, meaning they were well over 20 years old. Obviously it was long past time to replace them, but one problem: I HATE drilling holes in walls! I originally tried velcro dots that were supposed to be strong enough to hold something like that on the walls. They lasted a month.Then I stumbled upon these beauties. I was skeptical at first because my new smoke detectors had a raised edge that meant the bottom of the detector (where the first magnet would sit) wouldn't come in contact with the surface of the other magnet. I didn't need to worry. These magnets are crazy strong and grabbed onto my smoke detector like a toddler holding on to a cookie. I waited over a month before writing this review just in case the adhesive didn't live up to my expectations, but so far it's going strong.

I had those plastic holders on my ceiling. Every time I would change a battery it would be near impossible to make the holder and the alarm line up and connect correctly. Especially while balancing on the top of a ladder. I was searching for a better way to do this when I came across this product. This works perfectly. Removal and re-attachment is simple and easy. I wish I had found these before. I bought a set for every fire alarm in my house.

These are such a wonderful invention! I’m the only adult in the household, so tasks like installing smoke detectors falls to me. And I am NOT talented in this area. Thank you thank you for creating these! You just stick one piece on the ceiling, one piece on your smoke detector, and you’re done. No swearing, no throwing objects in frustration (or maybe it’s just me that does that when I get frustrated with a task like this).One thing to note: you can’t put it on the wall because the magnetic isn’t THAT strong and the smoke detector will slide right off. Ceiling is better anyway, as it takes up no space. I recommend.

This is one of those products that after using I find myself say "Now why didn't I think of that!" Well, even though I didn't think of it, I am glad someone did! So easy to use and install the smoke detectors this way. No more drilling hole in the ceiling that never seem to line up with the next smoke detector you buy. I highly recommend these to anyone installing smoke detectors or any other fairly lightweight item.
