The Mikuni TM42-6 HSR flows 17CFM more than our TM40-6 and besides better fuel economy and more power it incorporates many upgraded features such as a roller-bearing slide. All this when compared to your stock carb means going even faster has never been so easy. Say goodbye to hard starting, hesitations and flat spots. It will adapt to most factory air-boxes if purchasing separately one of our silver anodized air-box adapters. To operate correctly the motorcycles air box must be opened up to allow a lot more air flow in. IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you are not mechanically competent you must have this carb professionally fitted. The results when correctly fitted, tuned and supplied enough air for it to breath properly are astounding, fail to follow or complete the recommended procedures and you can be robbing yourself of extra power you’ll never know you have. This carb can mislead you into believing that the improvement it delivers when first fitted is all it has to offer. In the optional extras the specially made size 30 pump nozzle is required on Hondas or Kawasaki's and can offer even better fuel savings on other engines which usually prefer the size 50 nozzle provided. Most of the OEM Honda larger volume 650 tanks do foul on this carb and will require a qualified person to heat and depress the contact area on problem tanks. See the carb dimensions in relation to the width on the RH side. The carb fits OK with most aftermarket large capacity tanks being the Acerbis 22 litre tank or Safari & with the IMS tank which is very close. You will instantly experience better throttle response, improved acceleration, increased horsepower and torque.
