I love this tablet!
Update: Downgraded from 5 stars to 3. This thing reboots at least once per day, on its own, for no apparent reason. I turned off Google updates and that did not help. If this would work without rebooting, it would be a 5 star device. So far I am very impressed with this tablet, especially for the low price.App response time: response time is excellent. All my apps open quickly and function quickly. I have had issues with other tablets with apps such as the Kindle app having slow response times and occasional errors… NOT with this tablet. All my apps open quickly and work very smooth.Display Quality: The display is very crisp, easy to readMovies: I am a big movie nut. Movies play very nicely on this tablet. I am running on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Vudu. All three work perfectly and have smooth movie play with excellent video quality. Note: Netflix must be side loaded as Google Play thinks it can’t run on this tablet, but it runs fine. This is a problem with Google Play, not the tablet!Games: I don’t play many games on a tablet. The simple games I do play work very well.Screen Casting: This is the first tablet I have owned that can screen cast and actually still be usable. Although there is a noticeable lag when screen casting, the tablet still responds well. All the other tablets I have owned have had major issues while screen casting. This one actually still works fairly well. I have no use for this feature, but I always try to use it when I get a new tablet. :-) I guess if I ever need to give a presentation from my tablet, I am all set!Battery: The battery run time is also impressive. Normal use of this tablet typically gets me about 8 hours. Watching streaming movies, a full charge gets me almost 6 hours of constant play.Cameras: I basically use my back facing camera for barcode scanning while shopping. The tablet camera works well in store lighting, so this is perfect for my needs. I am sure you want to know how well it works as a regular camera or video recorder… All I can say about the quality is it looks good to me. Another reviewer will have to give you more details.Touch response: The touch is very responsive. I have not noticed any issues.Sound: The audio on this tablet is NOT the best I have experienced. This is the only “Con” I can find for this tablet. I can’t get much volume out of this tablet and the quality is a bit tinny. The tablet comes with headphones, but they make everything even worse. I hardly get any volume at all from the headphones that come with the tablet. So if you want to listen to music and/or need volume, you will need some decent Bluetooth speakers or headphones.Warranty: The tablet comes with a 1 year warranty. They emailed me shortly after the tablets arrival and offered me a second year if I registered it immediately. I don’t know if they do that for everyone, but it is a great deal!Overall, for my purposes, I rate this tablet at 5 out of 5 stars. If audio is super important to you, you will rate this less… unless you have decent Bluetooth speakers or headphones.

factory installed adware and daily lockups
Sorry to slam this tablet, but it needs to be slammed. There are about five problems I have with this thing and the least-worrisome three of them would still probably make me give it a one-star review. The most worrisome two (which I will put at the top of the list below) should make it a no-go for almost any normal user.1) After a couple weeks of use, I noticed I seemed to be getting more full screen ads on this tablet than on my other. Soon they goteven more frequent. I also got many message boxes "unfortunately GoogleSyn has stopped working." Eventually it gets so bad that, instead of spending all afternoon closing message boxes, I do a factory reset. Then no more ads (phew)... but, after a couple of weeks, they gradually come back, same program, same symptom. After some exhaustive digging, I discover that "GoogleSyn" appears to have nothing to do with Google itself, rather it is crash-happy adware that appears designed to spam the user heavily after the return period has passed. You can find it in the System apps and (without rooting) you can disable it, but not uninstall it. It is inexcusable for an app like this to come as part of the factory image, but that is what your dollars will get you if you buy it.2) The tablet averages one hard-crash per day. This means the screen turns all white (or all gray), no software buttons appear, no touch or hardware button works, and any sound that was playing will simply run in a nasty ~200 ms loop until, holding down the power button for about 10 seconds, you get the cursed thing to turn off. Turn it back on, sit through the long reboot, and you're back to normal (so, this is obviously another software issue, not hardware). If you're thinking "well, once a day isn't that bad" that's an average, you'll go a week without seeing this and think it's fixed, then it will happen 7 times in one day and you'll want to smash the thing.3) if you're still reading, maybe nothing can scare you off. The rest are things that are just darned annoying, but not absolute deal-breakers. The tablet advertises on Amazon that it's great for Netflix. In fact, Netflix (from the Play store) will not run on it (not compatible with your device), instead you'll have to find an old Netflix apk and side load it.4) The "grid" of the homescreen looks in the pictures like it could support ~50 icons or more, but actually it can't. Instead, each icon looks huge and takes up an irrational amount of space (the effect is like a giant phone, not like a tablet). Yes, some Android installations will let you edit this, but not the one on this tablet, instead you'll have to rig it up to take Android SDK commands via usb from your computer, or you'll need to pay for a resizable launcher. The stock launcher will also do annoying and inexplicable things like periodically replace your google now icons with ugly, white magnifying glass gifs, etc. You can reduce this behavior by trolling through the system apps and experimentally turning stuff on and off... but why would you buy something that requires that amount of hand-holding just to show you a decent home screen?5) The speakers are VERY weak (as in, weaker than earbud speakers from across the room). I have to turn them up to maximum to hear them in a quiet room at night. Any other time, I have to use a bluetooth speaker to hear the audio. To sum up, if I had known issues 3-5 above were going to happen, I would probably have bought a different brand of tablet. Issues 1 and 2 are utterly unacceptable (even $30 tablets don't suffer that kind of sabotage). If you've already bought the thing, hopefully the notes above can help you make some better use of it, but if you haven't, please don't risk it. If Elecost wants to have a crash-happy screen in your face all day showing you full screen video ads that you never requested, they should have to pay you!

Fantastic Tablet. Better than other tablets I looked at. 10" screen too.
Fantastic Tablet. My Motorola Xoom tablet finally died and after looking around on Amazon for a new tablet I decided to try the Elecost E10.1 tablet. It works great. Very fast. I would HIGHLY recommend it to any one looking for a 10" tablet.Update: I have been using this tablet for a few weeks now. The battery life is great. I am getting about 10 hours usage out of it. The tablet speed is great. Very fast. The internet connect is much better that what I was getting with the Motorola Xoom. Very light weight. The tablet screen is very bright. Much better than some of the other tablets I looked at in Sam's Club, Target, Best Buy, etc.You won't go wrong with this tablet.

Solid tablet for the price.
This is a good budget tablet. Some reviewers say the screen is "cheap" and scratches easily. What is scratching is the stock, removable screen protector that Elecost graciously installed for you. Netflix could not be downloaded through the Play store and had to be installed by downloading it from the Netflix webpage. It appears that Netflix and/or google view this device as rooted and will not let you install Netflix from the Play store... it is not difficult to install it, just enable install third party apps (google it) and download the official .apk from Netflix. It works great once installed. The only gripe I had with this tablet is the default DPI makes everything really big for my taste (some might find it perfect, it is all preference). If you are like me, do not despair. You can change the DPI through adb (google it). Default is 213, but I found 160 to be perfect.Great tablet for the price. 2 gigs of ram really smooths out the performance. Battery life is not quite as good as my DragonTouch, but is very adequate.
