A fantastic addition to the Papo line of dinosaurs. A fantastic piece for collectors, as well as kids!
This is yet another stunning addition to the Papo dinosaur collection.Sculpt: 5/5. The sculpting that Papo does on all of their figures is absolutely stunning. These are like mini sideshow pieces. All the scales, folds of the skin all are sculpted very well. Absolutely fantastic.Paint:5/5 the paint is just as good as the sculpt. A beautiful paint scheme on this Papo figurine. Particularly similar to the Lost World Jurassic Park trex. The paint blends in nicely In all areas of the figure, and looks natural.Articulation:5/5.Just like shleich, mojo, collectA, and safari LTD, the dinosaurs aren't very articulated. HOWEVER, articulation isn't needed in this figure. In fact if there was artication in the knees, head, or arms, then it would ruin the sculpt that makes this figure pop and come to life. The figure does have one point of articulation, and that is the jaw. You can open and close the jaw, to make this trex roar, or fight with another Papo figure like the spinosaurus.Price( is it worth it?) : 5/5- Absolutely! This figurine is fantastic. Well sculpted, painted, and has a very good smooth articulation for the jaws. That's all this figure needs. For $24.99, this is an affordable and very stunning figure for collectors and kids!OVERALL SCORE: 20/20100% (A+)A fantastic addition to the Papo line of dinosaurs. A fantastic piece for collectors, as well as kids!

Great model dinosaurs!
I've bought the entire Papo T. rex family: the green walking rex, a more upright brown rex and two baby rexes: one green and one brown. Some paleontologists have speculated that females might have been larger than males, so I named the larger brown rex "Sue" after the famous fossil and the slightly smaller green rex "Fang" because he has a bottom tooth that sticks out. This tooth (had he been a full-sized, living dinosaur) would have created a space between his teeth and a "slot" in his premaxilla similar to the fourth tooth slot found on the jaws of crocodiles. "Fang" has a space between his teeth and a slot in his upper jaw for his crooked bottom tooth. Now that's a toy with personality! All of the models are fairly accurate and very detailed with good paint jobs, which is pretty amazing considering they are mass-produced.I have only a few minor complaints / suggestions:1) The green "running" T. rex looks like he's walking, not running. Big whoop. You can decide for yourself by looking at the picture.2) I am actually surprised at how well my walking T. rex balances. Maybe I just got a good one or balance is less of an issue for me. Still, a little one might get frustrated by how easily the walking dino topples.3) The paint job on Papo dinos seems to scratch more easily than the paint job on Schleich dinos. (Schleich comes in second behind Papo when it comes to detail and believable paint jobs.) I didn't notice this right away because my dinos sit on a shelf and serve as models for my paleo art. My five-year-old cousin, on the other hand, is pretty rough on her dinos. I gave her a brown Papo T. rex on a Friday and by the end of the weekend she had managed to scuff him up so the underlying pinkish-brown color showed through on his eyebrows, nose and other vulnerable body parts.4) T. rex probably had at least a few feathers for display purposes. This would not detract from their fearsomeness. It's about time toys started reflecting what we know about dinosaurs.5) Almost every single toy gets the hand orientation wrong. The arms of most theropod dinosaurs would have functioned similarly to wings. The elbows and wrists had hinge joints that were more or less parallel to one other. With hands held out straight in front, the palms would have faced one another.6) The green T. rex totally needs a small prey item to dangle from his mouth. When the Papo T. rex family is together, the babies are looking up, begging for food. The upright T. rex guards the babies while the green T. rex brings food. Therefore, the green rex *needs* a detailed, contemporaneous prey item that fits perfectly in his teeth! Papo, please make one for him.7) The jaw on the walking T. rex is floppier than the jaws on the other T. rexes. It only has two distinct positions: all the way open and completely shut. The jaw is held shut by the crooked bottom fang / upper jaw slot, so it flops open quite easily. The mouths on the other T. rexes are much more posable.8) Baby T. rexes probably had a lighter build and a layer of fluffy down.Other than that, these toys are great, both for collectors and for somewhat careful children whose dinosaur battles don't get too rough.

Amazing!
When I got this I didn't even want to give it to my daughter to play with! It is such a beautifully made and intricately detail piece. I thought the schleich t-rex was pretty nice until I got this one. This guy blows that one out of the water on all aspects, his paint job, textures, pose are all twice as lifelike. I am a sculptor for a living and the artist who sculpted this model deserves an award. I may just buy another one for myself to display in my house. It really is that nice of a figure! It's plenty durable and it will last during normal play. Solid and heavy, this piece of artwork is worth the $$$ whether you want it as a toy or a statue for display!

Impressive, most impressive...
Wow. I'm a Hot Toys and Sideshow collector but this somehow has become the centerpiece of my colllection. The skin detailing, though a bit over the top, is meticulous and it's not just about the sculpt but the coloring as well. Glossy paint is spread throughout the green or top side of the body, leaving the underside pretty much matte just as you would expect. The gloss is also applied around the mouth area which is fantastic. I've got one of its teeth sticking out like a sore thumb but that is the only fault I see from this figure. Definitely love the fat layer underneath its foot, really sell the realism of this figure as a whole.Packaging is very secure and it took only 4 days for it to arrive straight from US all the way to Indonesia! Absolutely incredible!Absolutely recommended to anyone who is a fan of dinosaurs in general and specifically the Jurassic Park franchise where the design seems to be derived from or inspired by.If Hot Toys were to make a 1/6 T-Rex, they definitely could learn a trick or two from Papo.
