Reka French Horn Cleaning Kit

Very well made tools to clean the horn but you must follow directions to wash and rinse the sponge tips before and after use. My kit came with all the tools shown except for the smallest sponge on a stick which would have been useful. The mouthpiece brush is very high quality and has more dense, compact bristles than the usual variety. The long nylon or plastic style cord with a sponge on one end and a small wooden bead on the other looks like it will be much more gentle on the inside of the horn than the more common wire "snakes". I'm looking forward to using these European made cleaning tools on my horn.

The part I like best about this kit is the sponge swab on a stick. It is perfect for cleaning out excess slide grease. It will reach all the way inside the valve everywhere except the first valve on the Bb side.

I couldn't find my usual pull-through at home (springy wire device with a bristle brush on each end) so I decided to buy a new complete kit.This one does the job well - I haven't used the stick with the pompom end - not actually sure where I would as any length I'd be cleaning beyond the lead pipe is also a loop so the single stick is a bit of a spare part.The mouthpiece brush is good, longer than the original I had (must be in the same place as my first pull-through..)My horn is an Alexander, about 6-7 years old so this was the first clean-out it's had. I blocked the end of the lead pipe with a cork and filled it with water and left it about 2 hours to soak. Worked a treat. This is the only pipe needing regular cleaning really, anything else will survive on a rinse out. I was pleased to find when looking at the Alexander site that this is the kit they sell (so recommend?) as one to use on their horns. That's good enough for me.

Même si le colis semble cheap: le matériel est de qualité. Que dire de plus: offert en cadeau pour nettoyer un cor, il fait le job.

Heute ist mein Reinigungsset für Waldhorn angekommen. Dieses wollte ich auch sofort testen. Leider war beim Versuch die einzelnen Bögen der Ventilzüge zu reinigen Schluss. Es war nicht möglich die Kugel bis ans andere Ende der Bögen zu bekommen, da der Draht viel zu starr ist und er nicht durch die feinen Windungen hindurch kommt. Die restlichen Bestandteile des Sets sind in Ordnung, aber der eigentliche Hauptgrund für den Kauf war der oben genannte Draht. Da sollte dringend eine andere Lösung her.
