A must if you have CTS jacketed PEX
This tool is the perfect and perhaps only way to remove the plastic/aluminum jacket from CTS PEX. Well made and easy to use.

The part is just what I needed and I love it.

I experimented with a fitting and it seemed to go on ok but I wasn't comfortable enough to rely on the push fitting and so ...
This tool is a godsend if you have oxygen barrier pex installed in your house and want to tap into it (pex al pex I think). Sure it's expensive for what it does but I could not find any other way to strip off the outer layer of pex and middle layer of aluminum without damaging the inner pex tubing - this does it perfectly every time so you can use pex fittings with normal cinch bands. I will note that it only strips about 5/8" back which is short of the 1" Sharkbite specifies for its push fittings, I experimented with a fitting and it seemed to go on ok but I wasn't comfortable enough to rely on the push fitting and so used the standard Sharkbites and cinch bands instead, they have held up perfectly!
