My son loves Elmo.Elmo says get this book!

My 17-month old daughter is Elmo-obsessed and this tiny book is perfect for her to carry around everywhere. We have fun touching our noses, tapping our toes, rubbing our tummies, eating pretend cake, etc.As other reviewers have noted, the concept of "Elmo says" versus "Elmo not saying" is something a little too advanced for my daughter's current age. But we just work around it - I alter the reading of the book so that Elmo says to do everything, and skip over the "uh oh. Elmo didn't say" parts. I actually think of this as a perk, as this book will be able to grow with her. When she gets older and understands that idea, we will read the book as is. For now, we are still able to have a lot of fun with it!Also note: it is really easy to custom this book for a specific child's interests. For example, two of the things are to "walk like a cat" and "waddle like a duck." My daughter is currently into animal sounds (not yet animal movements), so I instead say "meow like a cat" and "quack like a duck." Again, it's something that we will be able to grow with. When we move onto movements, we can then walk and waddle!

Elmo will always be an all time favorite and what better way to enjoy him than in a book. We got this as a gift for my nephews 1st birthday and he loves it. He follows along with the Elmo says and gets the giggles while reading with mom.

Adorable book. My toddlers love it! My daughter can read it all by herself. She chooses to read it almost every night. I read it as Elmo and then she does. “Uh oh Elmo didn’t say...” I think is the cutest part. The kids did not understand immediately why you were not suppose to roar but then my kids caught on how the game works.

This book is much-loved by my one year old, who learned to recognize all of the characters in it fairly quickly without having watched Sesame Street. It has nice, bright illustrations and simple text. The problem, as with most board books, is that this does not hold up well to chewing (I understand this is common among babies and toddlers!). This is my daughter's newest book, but it looks like her oldest. First, I wish publishers of books like these would redesign the covers to withstand toddler teeth (the books with the puffy covers seem to do better), but failing that, perhaps they could use and indicate that they are using non-toxic inks to print these. That would give parents of toddlers who gnaw relentlessly some peace of mind. Other than that, we all like this book and would buy it again, despite its flaw.

I can't even tell you the amount of times I have read Elmo Says 4 times in a row because my 9 month old loves this book so much. This book is super sweet and a lot of fun, and your baby/toddler will love seeing Elmo on every page.Disclaimer: You WILL get sick of this book, but that's the price of a good book and a love of reading for your children :)

This is a fun book for any elmo-loving toddler. It's short and simple. My 2 year old doesn't quite understand the concept yet of "Elmo didn't say..." but she still enjoys doing all of the actions and I feel like it's a parenting win because it combines reading with fine motor skills and following instructions.

My now 20 mos old son loves this. He began loving it by 18 mos, though I think we purchased this at 15 mos. At the beginning I would have to skip some words/go faster but by 20 mos for sure he enjoys all the different actions. He does not quite grasp the simon says aspect, but very much enjoys doing the actions. Overall I imagine this will continue to be a hit for several years to come.
