Soundcast VG7
I consider myself somewhat of a speaker and music aficionado. The main reasons being I have owned several brands and types of speakers and I have a TON of music. I've only had the VG7 for about three days. Immediately three things stand out about this speaker. 1)This speaker is extremely sturdy. The moment you put your hands on it, you can tell it is a very solidly built unit. I imagine it will be very durable and that's a huge plus. It also makes it ideal for places most high end speakers won't fare well. Tailgating and the beach come to mind. 2) The battery life is very good. I have the Outcast speaker from the same company and I don't think I've ever gotten the battery to last more than about 6 hours at higher volume levels. The battery on this one has easily surpassed that already on the first charge. That is a big deal because in many cases, you will not have accces to a plug in areas where you take the speaker. I cannot count how many times the Outcast battery let me down after only a few hours. Hopefully the battery in this speaker will not do that to me. 3) The audio reproduction this speaker puts out is VERY VERY good! You,can hear the details in the music at every layer. The highs are crisp, the mids are strong, and the Bass has punch and depth. It elicits emotion for sure. The speaker will go full tilt with no hint of distortion. And the highs never get harsh like they sometimes do on the Outcast. This speaker is not going to trounce everything in an SPL contest, but it does put out beautiful sound at moderate levels and can easily get a party started indoors or out! I think the only reason I am not giving it five stars is that it definitely takes a back seat to the Outcast in terms of raucousness and I sort of have a thing for loud thumping bass that the Outcast brings to the table. Maybe Soundcast will make a bigger version of this speaker or give it more power in the future. Or maybe the answer from that perspective is to pair two in TWS. I can't comment on that as I only own one VG7. But I will say I am a satisfied customer thus far and I think the quality of the speaker, the long life battery, and excellent audio will make for many good times ahead.

Quality is there, but it's not as powerful as it's older bigger brother.
Hi All,I have 2 of these so I can compare the stereo aspect too.Cons:> The VG7 is no replacement for the Outcast (I do events for a living, and the outcast never fails to impress while it's working. I have had 18 of them). I'd put them at about 1/2 as loud. (louder than the Outcast Jr. though.> VG7 Sounds like a 100 Watt system, Outcast sounds like a 300 Watt system.> The stereo function with 2 speakers only works in bluetooth mode, not direct Aux cable.> I'm really hoping Soundcast comes up with a worthy successor to the power of the Outcast, I'd buy another 20, seriously.> The Outcast has had a real problem with the power switches. 80% of mine have failed with no recourse from Soundcast. That was thier last gen product......So that's why I bought 2 new VG7's. (2 VG&'s are still not as loud as a n Outcast.)Enough bitching, now for the good part: The PROs and there are a lot of them.> 2/3rds the size of the Outcast (easier to tote)> Better rubber buttons for controls> A black finish (the white outcast marks up pretty fast)> On board bluetooth to source and to a paired speaker> An extra bass toggle button> The Sound is Very very good. Audiophile quality. Crisp, powerful, distortion free, no background amp noise.> I understand the company has gone though a few transitions, and yielded an new line of product. Conclusion:> Top notch sound quality> Improved form factor in appearance and portability> Much improved user interface/controls> Nice stereo pairing feature> By comparison in sound performance, the VG7 sits right in the middle of the Outcast jr. and the big Outcast.> Very good for a large room in your house, but you won't own the neighborhood like an Outcast can.

Easy option for superb sound
I've owned one for a couple of years and I've really enjoyed the sounds it puts out, but I recently picked up a second and wow...it really shines when you link them together. I now have full rich, stereo sound throughout my backyard without having to run any wires. Highly recommended!

Sweet sound!
Great speaker! Happy with it. Detailed sound, even though it could be louder I’m still happy and will keep it.I’m not sure why people have mentionrd distortion. I have had no distortion with this speaker, even at full blast.Build like a tank! The price I paid is worth it. At the $800 normal price, no way! Only because it should be louder for the price.I also like that you can replace the battery.I enjoy this speaker!!

Big and Bold
Sounds great with tremendous bass. Easy to connect. No battery issues so far but only use it a few hours at a time. A bit heavy for the wife to carry but like the water resistance out by the pool. Highly recommend.

You need this now!
What a nice piece of equipment! I found it easy to set up, straight forward to use & exactly what I was looking for. The sound of the music is deep with a good center to it, and the bass kicks! The Bluetooth works perfect and it is nice to be able to plug in a “transistor radio” via a 3.5 supplied cable to listen to an all game. I highly recommend this to anyone needing a great sounding portable speaker.

Amazing sound
We love hosting whether it's at home BBQ's or poolside with friends. This speaker was perfect for such occasions and so far we absolutely love the crisp sound and the quality is amazing. We have no complaints so far and are happy that we took our time choosing a speaker.

Own 6 of them!
We use them at home and for our resort. Hardly ever write reviews, but sound quality is superb and well worth the money.

SOUNDCAST 39220 VG7 Premium Portable Bluetooth Speaker
I thought I’d plum for a couple of the VG7’s from Amazon which arrived a couple of days ago. One had a slight issue with the base output and a replacement arrived the next day.I wanted to hear what these sounded like before making a decision with regard to the VG7SE’s (available in the UK next year @ around1.4k each!) and at under half price - why not?I love my legacy Outcasts and other SoundCast products - a full and rich sound which is always commented on by those who visit or at parties, however I am very sorry to say that the VG7 is disappointingly under powered and distorts at higher volumes, given the premium associated toboth the price (not that I paid that) and brand, set around the price of the legacy Outcasts – these fail to deliver at almost every level bar battery life, above 60% of total volume.I would not have kept them at the full price (List is around £699) I have paired 2 of these unit and the sound is simply not at the level of the 10 year old Soundcast Outcasts.A number of friends, eager to review to purchase have also listened and drawn the same conclusion within seconds, listening to both the legacy and new side-by-side – why you are replacing your Outcasts with an inferior product I have repeatedly been asked? and the truth is I’m not, I’d keep these to provide music in other outdoor rooms or parts of the garden or house but will sadly continue to use Outcasts as my primary portable speakers.Well worth the money paid at sub £300 a unit - but 10 years on expected so much more from SoundCast.

Leider nicht den Erwarteten Sound geliefert. . .
