My daughter asked for a laundry hamper for Christmas! I wanted to reward her for asking for such a practical and affordable gift, so I started reading laundry hamper reviews, to make sure I got her a nice one (ha ha). Anyway, I wasn't sure how this was going to be quality-wise. It arrived completely flat, so I was worried about that. But to my surprise, once we unfolded it, it was sturdy and stays upright when empty or full. It's thick and nice "rope-like" canvas material. It's not scratchy at all. We got it in a sort of cream / oatmeal color. It's much larger than I expected -- my kids get about 2 loads in it each time. and a nice heavy weight. It is very attractive standing on its own in a bedroom. And sturdy enough to endure a tween stuffing it full of clothes and then throwing it down the stairs when I'm not looking. It's been a great upgrade to her laundry basket. It's very handy to have an attractive place to hide laundry, with great handles, and a lot of capacity. Highly reccomend!

Pretty sturdy and multi-purpose! It has maintained it's shape and I've had it for several weeks now.

These baskets really stepped up my laundry room. They are tall, deep and well made. I use them for extra storage for blankets and pillows and I use one to store wrapping paper and gift bags up on a shelf.I will tell you though that when I unpacked them they had a strong odor. I think it’s the odor of the natural jute. I set them on the patio for a couple days to air out. Now they no longer smell. I’m glad I got them. I bought three.

Smelled really weird and strong, like car tires, and the material is rough and scratchy, but it works fine.

Unfortunately, I had to return this item because I needed something larger (I should have looked at the measurements more carefully). That said, it is a nice looking laundry basket with a decent size storage capacity and retains the shape without folding over. It is nice enough to use in an area as a decorative and functional asset to the room.

First, listen to other reviews that state it has a massive chemical smell. I immediately took mine outside and sprayed it with both water to try to reshape it and with a scent-hiding fabric spray to try to remove the smell. It has been out in the sun for half a day and the shape has slightly improved but the smell has not. I am certain it will be days before the smell dissipates and I can bring it inside; my entire backyard reeks. The shaping issue could easily be solved by not folding it like origami when shipping it. I am glad I caught it on a lightning deal and did not pay full price, especially since it has a noticeable “hump” at the top where the sides don’t match up. If it goes to the shape it is supposed to be and the smell goes away, both in a timely manner, I will update the review with more than one star.
