Need some elbow room??
This is one robust pasta die. It makes the best small size elbows you could ever want. At first, $34 seemed like a bit high. But when I received my die and got to use it, I found it worth the extra money. Cleaning was a little time consuming, but it was easy to get out all the dough with no problem. I used to have a Popiel Pasta Maker and those dies were a real chore to get cleaned

Perfect fit. Worked perfect first time
I'd been looking for a decent bucatini die for a while. this one is great - just the right size, noodles extrude very well. The only negative is it is a royal pain to clean.

Awesome shape! Awful to clean
The disk fit my pasta machine perfectly! Because the holes are so small it took a bit longer to extrude the dough but it made perfect macaroni shape! The cleaning however is a beast! I have been using a sewing needle to fit through the little holes to clean out the last of the dough.

Cleaning the pasta disc
I see quite a few reviews noting how difficult it is to clean pasta discs, particularly this one. Here's the method I use: set your garden hose spray nozzle to it's strongest and 'thinnest' stream. Put the nozzle directly on the front side of the pasta disc and turn the water on. Rotate the nozzle around each opening in the disc until all are clean. You'll first want to remove as much dough from the backside before you start. This may not be practical in the winter (depending on where you live), and you might also get somewhat wet from the spray (a rain jacket could be a good idea). You'll also want to do this shortly after the last extraction before the dough hardens. For me, though, it's much easier than manually clearing with a pick.

Too hard to clean!
Good news: the bucatini is well made and really good. Bad news: the pasta die for bucatini is almost impossible to clean after making pasta. I have at least 14 dies for my Phillips pasta extruder, but this is by far the hardest to clean after use. We need a tool to clean the die.

Two for one
If you cut small pieces, you end up with elbow macaroni! Love these discs!

Exactly the right size !!
I was hoping that the macaroni would be the same size as Catelli’s size and it is the exact same thing. Some will say it is not easy to clean, but you need to clean it the day after so that it is easier to do so… so not wash it while it is full of dough otherwise it will be impossible to clean… wait till it dries out.

Love this !!
Of course I had to try it out as soon as it arrived. It worked perfectly. It's the same small macaroni I was buying from the store. If you love macaroni, def. get this disc. They have many others ill be purchasing as well.
