Directions in life
Nice flow in a story where friendship and the value of how one uses the power within is challenged. Where values and choices have the power to channge the world we live in.

Savage and brilliant is the dawn!
I think we can safely say this ending is just the beginning. I rarely give out five stars, but this book, the entire series, with its brilliant and remarkable cast of characters whose voices are as distinct as constellations in the sky, and the valiant author who penned them has earned it. Can't wait to see what she dreams up next.

I HAVE TRUST ISSUES AFTER THIS BOOK.
So, I adored the series as a whole, but honestly this book was kind of a mess. Things started out okay and were mostly great up until the last hundred pages or so? There are a TON of unanswered questions and it really felt like perhaps some things got edited out that made scenes jump to quickly. You will not get resolutions for any of the secondary characters. The end of this book is left somewhat open for possible future books down the line, it seems, but perhaps not. I recommend the series but this installment is definitely going to polarize fans.If it wasn't for the messy last 100 pages, this book would've been fantastic. Other than that, I adored it. It was exciting, romantic, and I will always love these characters. It was definitely missing a bit of the fun of the first two books, but there was a lot going on. I was very sad to have to put this series down and finally say goodbye to everyone.

Satisfying, not perfect, conclusion
The Savage Dawn is the final installment to The Girl at Midnight trilogy, and I was not disappointed. Caius has been taken by his twin, Tanith, and is being sucked dry of his magic to feed the always ravenous kucedra. Echo, Dorian, Jasper, Ivy, and Rowan embark on a mission to rescue him, while also searching for a way to stop the beast once and for all. The characters grow closer and the relationships are finally fleshed out in this book. I truly loved the dialogue throughout all three books as it was superb. Sometimes witty banter can drag the story down or even become annoying but that was not the case in this series. It just flowed naturally, as it should. The ending itself broke my heart a little, but it really concluded the series in a satisfying, not perfect, way. I'm actually glad it didn't have the perfect fairytale ending; it made everything more believable. There were times certain sentences/phrases were repeated, but I chose to move passed them. It didn't really take away from the story, in any case. I would recommend this book to any YA fantasy lovers.

All the overwrought angst and hand wringing was just too much for me
(No spoiler) Was not a big fan of the ending, it pretty much went 180 degrees from what I thought was the whole point of the books. Also, while I generally enjoyed the previous 2 books, this book was way too overwrought with melodrama. I appreciate good character development, but all the overblown angst and hand wringing was just too much for me. Book three was just awful. This should have been a 2 book set, the third was all fill.

Disappointing
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one was really slow and just felt like it was rehashing some of the same type of ground as before. Gave up with it eventually

Was okay but had a very disappointing and confusing ending
I honestly liked the beginning of the book, I loved hearing the Kucedra's perspective, I loved how they delve into Dorian and Jasper's relationship. They were honestly my favourite couple of the series. I also loved how close Ivy and Helios were getting, they were becoming a very cute and sweet couple and proof that Avicen and Drakharin can live together in peace.I liked how the characters were dealing with the grief of loved ones and friends. I liked how each character had a different way of dealing with Caius' abduction.I liked how Caius befriended a dragon. The beginning of the book had a very good pace and showed how Tanith was trying to fight the Kucedra but ultimately was not succeeding. What I did not like was how Grey skipped to some parts in the story and left us the reader wondering when that all happened. I honestly was so lost in the middle of the book to the ending. Some chapters I was literally like this. "When the heck did this happen?! Why are we here now?! When did Helios leave?! How did no one notice he left?! When did Ivy go to the hospital?! How did the Ala convince these humans not to experiment on them?!"The middle and the ending of the book felt very rushed and it really didn't make a lot of sense. I mean the ending made literal no sense at all. Tanith and Caius both died? Why did they BOTH have to die? I mean I was expecting an epic battle between Light and Dark and Echo literally loses her cool and ends up falling into Tanith's hands and almost dies because of it also she get the Firebird pulled out of her and still somehow fulfills the prophecy? Uh...Huh?! I wanted Echo and Caius to finally get the happy ending that they both deserved. I mean maybe Caius got his because he's with his sister and his love Rose now forever and always but what did Echo get? She and Rowan are just friends now and she gave up her virginity to Caius because she loved him.All in all this book could have been as good as the other two if Grey had taken her time with the rest and not rushed it.
