Nice sounding with some structural problems
It's a nice sounding guitar. However, one of the metal sound filters easily broke off within the first few days. Then the other broke off.. The really weak glue makes this item not worth it.

Well spent money for a resonator guitar
My Regal RD-40CH arrived today. I couldn't understand why it was priced considerably lower than the RD-40 in the different finishes. I still do not know why.I had a cheapy resonator guitar a couple of years ago that I didn't think much of and so I sold it. So my experience with resonator guitars is limited, but I will tell you what I have found so far with this guitar.Mine arrived well packed and in a timely manner. I do not find any flaws or scratches on the guitar. It is well finished. The action on this guitar is very playable right out of the box. The only downside that I see is the bridge does not look to be very substantial and may sometime need to be replaced. Of course, it was not in tune when I got it, so I tuned it to standard guitar tuning and played for awhile. It sounded very good and pretty loud. Then I changed it to open "D" tuning. I am trying to teach myself to use a slide, so I sat on the porch with this and played for an hour or so. It stayed pretty much in tune through the whole time I played it. It does not hum or buzz on any of the frets. The intonation appears to be pretty darn good all the way up the fret board (that was checked with an electronic tuner). It has a very nice tinny sound to it like you would expect from a resonator guitar. I sat in a music store a couple of weeks ago and played a resonator by a well known maker. This one was less expensive, but sounds as good to my ear. I just checked the tuning again. It appears that it has not slipped out of tune at all. Now, I have had this guitar for only a few hours, but I will say that so far, I am very happy with my purchase.
