Love it
I use mine every day as I bought as a present for myself during winter months. Overall the 6.5 litre is pretty big, however what I find is that I cook a chilli or a stew or a soup or whatever it might be and my wife and I enjoy a lovely meal and whatever is left over is used as another meal a couple of days later if kept in the fridge and we also get to freeze some for a meal whenever we chose. I have found it very useful that it can effectively cook a chilli, stew etc sufficient for 10-15 people of required for £10-12 and only having to use one cooking pot once all ingredients in.The item itself looks pretty stylish. It sits at the rear of our units, behind the kettle which is the same colour and is very un-intrusive. You wouldn't even know it's there sometimes apart from the wonderful smells that come from it when I use it. For the price, I was very impressed and I suppose had it been original price and not half price, I think I still would have been pleased due to the amount of use I get out of it.If you're not into cooling meals or freezing extras then you may want a smaller version but depending on size of your kitchen (and ours isn't big) it's not intrusive in my opinion and the recommended instructions for better flavours and accurate cooking times is to only half fill it really, whatever size cooker you use.

Good choice
Delivered well packaged & before due date. I didn't buy it for my personal use, but for my daughter who has 4 growing boys to feed, & always prepares their evening meal from scratch with fresh veg etc. She likes to cook & I thought this might be a help - I was right! I have to say I was impressed with design & finish when I took it from packaging, also with capacity & depth of ceramic insert. My girl is delighted as it feeds a family of 6 in one sitting, & provides double helpings. We both like that cook pot can be placed on the table & retains heat of contents throughout dinner. Cooks joints of meat perfectly too! It replaces her previous, smaller, slow cooker, so she notices every difference. The cooker also comes with a user advice booklet which also has some great recipes [2 of which I've tried & are really good]. I'm very pleased with this quality purchase, It's solid, well made & thoughtfully designed. If your'e a busy mum with a hungry family - it's ideal. [I got a 'best mum' award for buying it!]

Great value for money
After much researching and getting friends opinions on slow cooking in general, I took the plunge and bought this Morphy Richards slow cooker.Having never used a slow cooker, my main concern was it would be another piece of kitchen gadgetry heading for the appliance graveyard cupboard when the novelty wore off. On friends advice I went for a large capacity model despite a 3 litre being plenty for a family of three, and I'm glad I did. Twice a week I bulk cook a meal in my slow cooker and can usually get 4-6 spare portions to freeze as ready meals, great for those evenings you really can't be bothered with cooking from scratch with resorting to takeaway. The slow cooker itself is huge, I had a feeling it would be, but until you see it in situ, it's hard to imagine, so think carefully where you're going to store it.This is a basic model, so no timer, but 3 heat settings : low (the one I use the most), medium and high (great for the last hour if you've used too much liquid). It is easy to clean, and so far I've had no cooking disasters, just lots of tasty meals! Overall great value for money.

Great, highly recommend
Bought to accompany a small circular one I have from my student days. I have learnt that it's most practical to have a large slow cooker. This is the one! You can easily fit a whole chicken in the dish. Brisket does really well, high temperature caramelises perfectly. Has the usual slow cooker controls, glass lid useful to keep an eye on things. One flaw is that the manual says you can't put the dish in the oven.....? Can't see why this would be a problem ( probably wouldn't put the lid in too) but I haven't been brave enough to try. Can't put on the hotplate as the bottom is slightly concave.Overall great product, could be improved by adding conventional oven/hob compatibility + and integrated timer function - something I feel is essential to slow cooking. Of course you can buy your own like I did

Easy use, no timer
Really easy to use, however it does not have a timer on it, therefore you have to manually turn it off. I get distracted easily, and have yet to burn anything in it during these times.Easy to clean, only the pot and lid, pot is very heavy, someone with arthritis in their hands/wrists would struggle, however they would likely struggle with all slow cooker pots.

Every kitchen should have one!
Excellent item - easy to use and easy to clean afterwards. This is the slow cooker to buy if you want a simple gadget which will produce good results with the minimum of fuss. When filled to capacity (3/4 full) it will produce around 8 generous portions of whatever you choose to make. It is great for winter stews and casseroles. Just fill half full with chopped up root vegetables, brown your meat of choice (cheap cuts work as well as the more expensive ones) and put it on top of the veg. Cover with stock, put the lid on and off you go. The cooker has three settings controlled by a single dial - Low, Medium & High. For a full day's cooking (9 - 5pm) the medium setting is seemingly the best. Taking the lid off for the last hour and setting to High to thicken the gravy with a bit of cornflour usually produces the best results. This is a good value, simple to use product. It is very robust and should last many years with careful use. The heavy ceramic stock-pot is easy to clean and naturally fairly non-stick. The instruction booklet comes with a handful of good, basic recipes to get you started. A great way to make healthy, tasty and economical meals and fill up your freezer with all the extra portions!! Highly recommended product.
