In April 2017 The Who took to the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall to perform their rock opera “Tommy” live in its entirety for the first time in their long and illustrious career. Previous Who live shows had always dropped two, three or four tracks from the album but for this show in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust the band would perform every track. With specially created animations on a huge screen above the stage and creative use of lighting the concert told the story of the “deaf, dumb and blind kid who sure played a mean pinball.” In addition, at the end of Tommy, the sell-out crowd was treated to a short set of Who classics. Always a great live band, this performance was a thrilling ride from start to finish.

50 years on just as good
After Quadraphenia I thought you might retire. Thank God you didn't. I think this concert is wonderful, almost as good as the Quadraphenia Blu-ray. You guys must feel so proud!!! I think you are the best rock band in the world still and in your 70's - just unbelievable.

Rock on Tommy!
A great performance overall. Roger’s voice isn’t what it was, but there is still some power there, and loads of enthusiasm. Pete, of course, can’t be faulted on the guitar. The other musicians play well, and Zak is great on the drums.

... times and indeed when Tommy was released it was good to see the whole opera played by them
Having seen The Who live a few times and indeed when Tommy was released it was good to see the whole opera played by them. Well done to them especially Pete Townsend. Well worth having in any collection.

Painful
This band was the best band at one time in the world … So much has changed… I did enjoy the drummer for the band on this show.. Pete seems to have changed the old magic they used to have… shame really…
