A World of Beautiful Colors comes alive as players choose commission cards picturing 34 of the finest European art works of the past six centuries. Players score their commissions by mixing primary colors through clever tile placement, and recreating the palette of colors used by the masters who created these works. Explore the paintings, palettes and pasts of the artists in this unique and challenging game for the whole family. While placing hexagonal pieces to gain palette (color) cards, players become familiar with the different color combinations that produce the many hues of an artists palette... all listed on the Player Reference Card. Players also learn to recognize many great artists and their works as they complete commissions.

Great game
The game loos great and has super production quality. I played it before only once and liked it, played it three times more since I purchased it and totally love it. My husband loves it too.

Easy to learn, challenging to win and wonderfully made
It isn't easy to explain how to play Pastiche in a review as it is a very visual game which is best experienced (if you want to see/know more have a look at BoardGameGeek). Basically, you build up palettes of paint colours to complete 'Old Master' style paintings. Completed paintings earn you points, as do unused paints, if they are for a painting in your hand. Bonus points arise if you have more than one painting by the same artist. Player with the most points winsPlay is fairly logical and deceptively simple to learn (our 7yo has no problem), tactics can get quite challenging quite quickly though. Pastiche is quite probably unlike almost any other game you have played, my non-gaming wife really quite likes this one (and Forbidden Island co-op game). Play can be as short as 30 minutes for 2 players. No dice and only a small element of luck makes it feel like a proper grown up gameThe components (even the seriously heavy box and plastic inner) are beautifully made with solid materials and exquisite artwork (as you might expect from the theme) - probably the most nicely put together game in our collection. It doesn't get a full 5 stars from me as I don't know how many times you would replay before it started to feel 'samey' (hopefully it will reveal its depth with play, will report back on that). Also, some may find the price a little high even though the material value of the components is really good
