Infernium: Nightshade Duology, Book 2
R**.
Lots and lots of stuff to chew through
This sequel aims to pack a lot of religious mythology into its relatively linear story. I get that you have to know the “whys” to understand the “how’s” and the “nows”, but at times this came off a little too clunky. There’s a lot of new terminology and names, and at one point I was sure the entire sentence I had just read was in a different language. If you try reading this without having read the first book (Nightshade), you will truly stop caring and give up. I actually wanted to give up when something horrible happened to one of the main characters. But I was too far in…I needed to know how this author planned to make it up to the characters.I love Keri Lake’a books, and I’m not sorry for taking the time to read this series. I just wish much of the dialogue between characters didn’t leave me feeling like I was eavesdropping on something I had no clue about. Much was alluded to past situations, and I kind of felt like I should’ve already deeply understood what they were talking about. And while it’s not a negative factor for me AT ALL, be aware that there are a few LGBTQ characters in this book and anyone who hasn’t mentally evolved enough to respect humans and their rights to live their truth might struggle with some of the material here.

Far Exceeded Expectations, An Amazing Duology
I don’t know why Keri Lake is more popular right now, because I felt these two books, especially the second, were some of the best I’ve ever read in this genre. Not only were they wonderfully erotic, they were also complex and moving. I love how she delves into ideas about good and evil and all the shades of gray in between. The characters were endearing and relatable. I especially enjoyed Farryn- she’s my girl. There were definitely disturbing and bleak themes but also a lot of love and redemption. These books are also more unique and nuanced than something by say, Sara J Maas. Do yourself a favor and enter the world of Nightshade!

MASTERPIECE!!!
I just want to shout about this duology from the rooftops! It’s a masterpiece. I loved this story so much. Im obsessed and couldn't get enough. I am so happy i decided to read this duology and dive into this wonderful dark gritty world Keri made. The way she mixed past and present was perfection, genius, so beautifully done. It kept me so hooked! More mysterious and secrets to uncover, twists and of course delicious spice! How Keri connects everything is truly impressive. It just kept getting better and better as it went on. Demons, angels, different realm’s, a love that withstands centuries and death and a unique addictive storyline mixing it all together perfectly. The ending was so intense and emotional. Like wow, Keri made magic with this story. Honestly, she is a freakin genius. Ive become a big fan of hers. Although im sad Jericho and Farryn’s story is over, it will live on in me forever!

As real as the stars
As real as the starsWhat a way to wrap up this year's must-read fantasy romanceLake outdid herself with this duology"It is not the darkness itself which makes men evil, but what compels them."I battled my inner child on numerous occasions to keep her from peeking at the end - From reassuring herself there was a HEA at the endIt wouldn't have done her any good as the end is not what it seemsA little cryptic 😉 I know"Because pain is and will always be the consequence of love"But the twists and turnsThe heart-stopping "Oh Hades No" momentsThe betrayals we didn't see comingThe small precious moments that made us smileThe little things that gave us hopeThe evil that left us shatteredThis has it allAnd it was so worth the journey“I not only brought the wrath of the heavens, but opened the gates of hell.”The love between these two souls...I have no words to properly describe what a truly spectacular adventure this wasHands down the best romance of 2022

Dark and beautiful
I have read both books Nightshade and Infernium. No matter what dark forces occur through time, Jericho and Farran’s love is strong enough to overcome it all. It is a culmination of both books and helps you to understand everything. Their love is timeless.

I NEED MORE!!!!
I can’t count the number of times I would refer back to the glossary while reading this book. I didn’t want to take any chance of missing out by not knowing or misunderstanding Keri Lake’s complex world along with the incredible cast of characters that you absolutely LOVE and absolutely HATE with desperation. I LOVED The Bargainer, but this duology was so good, I never wanted it to end. If you decide to commit yourself to never wanting to put a book down, try it with two of them! 😜

Speechless! amazing read
This book, this duet will live forever in my mind and heart. In this book we found out about a lot of things that were mention in Nightshade and everything ends making sense, a lot of world building which I love, even though some times it felt like a lot of information. This boom was not walk in the park, and it was hard to read at some parts because it was heartbreaking, I felt sad, angry and all the feels because at some point it seems like there was no way that this would turn out ok for both Farryn and Jericho. But hold on, hold on because it delivers, air you are a fan for gothic stories that make you want to sleep with the light on because of fear of some creature slipping through the pages then this is the book for you.Keri Lake you’ve done it again! This is a masterpiece.

One of the best series I've ever read!
Keri Lake has done it again! What a conclusion to Farryn and Jericho's story!! This duet brought so many emotions out in me and Keri Lake's storytelling and writing just pulls you in deeper. The Nightshade duet is by far one of my favorite series. I laughed, I cried, I rooted for them throughout their story. I couldn't put it down! But I was also sad the closer I came to the ending because I've come to love these characters so much. The way they were willing to do whatever it took to protect one another, it was beautiful and messy and dark. A forever love that lasted and will continue to last for centuries. Thank you Keri Lake for bringing these characters to life. I will be rereading this duet often in the future!

The ultimate love story. Captivated and enchanted throughout. Epic finale!
I don’t know where to start!Firstly, I’m now so lost! This is going to be a hard one to follow, emotions are high.Secondly…. What an absolutely feckin epic finale to the Nightshade duology.Every book of Keri’s consumes me, she so easily pulls me into the worlds she writes and Infernium tops the lot.I am so grateful Keri decided the make this two books. She said Infernium was a monster read, yes it was! But oh what a beautiful monster, Jericho and Farryns story needed this. After being left with the uncertainty at the end of Nightshade, Infernium absolutely gave us all the answers and more.Their journey from start to finish leaves you breathless, it’s an emotional rollercoaster, just when you think they have won the battle, another curve ball comes their way and a new war begins.Revenge, redemption, revelation, loss and Love is the name of the game and we have it all in spadesThis is the ultimate love story that spans not only time but other worldly dimensions.I have laughed, cried, had super revelations that I had to text Diane Dykes about immediately,( if you know Keri you know Diane 🤪) I received my LoL’s in reply.Keri blows my mind with her work and I can’t wait to see where she take us on her next journey.

3.5 stars
With Jericho out of Ex Nihilo, he and Farryn agree that they will be safer in Nightshade than in the mortal realm.Plus they think they may be able to find Farryn’s father there in the hope that he can somehow restore Jericho’s wings. So that he will have all his powers to guard them. To save them. Can they figure out a way to save Farryn’s soul before she has their baby?Firstly, I really should have re-read Nightshade before diving into this because there was sooo much I’d forgotten. As a result it took me a while to really sink my teeth in to this book because I spent so much of the first half going “who?” “when did that happen?” “Huh?” But that’s on me.I did spend the majority of this book frustrated at the characters though! They constantly kept things from each other. Unnecessarily so. And Farryn was an idiot for it! I mean if you’re pregnant and weird stuff is happening TELL SOMEONE!!! Especially if that weird stuff could be harmful to you and your baby. Why did she keep lying? Honestly there were so many moments of wanting to throw my Kindle at the wall.I love their fierce loyalty to each other though. Jericho’s I-will-burn-down-the-five-realms-to-make-sure-you-are-safe attitude is all kinds of alpha hot!

FANTASTIC, I HAVE NO WORDS
This was one of the best books I have ever read, if you haven’t read Nightshade first then you need to do so before diving into Infernium, this book had everything you could possibly want in a paranormal gothic romance , the style of writing is brilliant and the story just drags you in so you forget everything but turning the next page. Keri Lake I just love your books , please just keep on writing so that I can keep on reading. 100% recommend this book and Author.

Would you walk through literal Hell for the one you love?
I love this creation of Nightshade and the characters and world within. Keri can create such a breathtaking story that I don’t want to leave this world either. The depth and complexity of this storyline also leads to many amazing delights of discovery. I am amazed that all of the events happened within this book!Like in Nightshade, we get multiple POV to allow us to understand what happened in the past and the effects in the future, the friends and the foe and the villainous evil. My heart hurt with the many revelations towards the end, especially when they entered Infernium. But the delight of the epilogues was the soothing balm I required.I look forward to more words from Keri in the future.
