Purchased it a couple of weeks ago, although a bit worried about the intense smell comments here and at amazon.com. Straight out of the box, it only had a very mild smell, which is to be expected for a new item. I left it outdoors for a couple of hours, just in case (couldn't get the "smell from hell" reviews out of my mind I guess) and never had a problem with it, there's no smell. Maybe it's a production line issue with some foot rests, but mine was fine.It's fairly sturdy for the price, but I'd avoid putting any unnecessary pressure - it probably wouldn't take it, and it's not what foot rests are meant to do anyway. Relax your feet on it and don't push them on while you're getting up from your chair. You might also want to be careful with the height & tilting. They work fine, just don't put unnecessary force, set & forget them.The instructions can be confusing at first since there's no text at all, but rather an elaborate colour-image-numbering system, which is easy to decipher with a little bit of extra thought. If you want a foot rest for barefoot massaging you'd better look elsewhere, since this one's surface is almost flat and will probably require frequent cleaning. For working purposes, it's a very good item.

I've been using this for a while, and it definitely helps with posture by allowing me to keep my knees level with the seat of the chair which is recommended.I have noticed that it reduced pain in my lower back and overall makes it more comfortable sitting down, which used to get quite painful.You can adjust it into different angles to suit your needs, but this mechanism can easily become unlocked and shift it about. It's not a huge issue, and it happens by knocked the middle part so can be avoided once known, it is just a little annoying.I started using this as well as the  The Original McKenzie Lumbar Roll - D-Shaped (Packaging Varies)  and find that my back pain has gone when sitting down!Delighted with that because of these two products.

The item arrived well within the specified time, extremely well packaged and by courier service. The footrest itself is nicely designed with varying adjustments and both looks and feels as if great care has gone into manufacturing a strong piece of office equipment which if looked after should last for many years to come. Although, as with anything only time will tell.Returning to the adjustments: The footrest comes with a hand graph showing four colours, the same corresponding colours are shown on both sides of the footrest, you have to place your hand on the graph and depending which colour your finger tips reach this is the colour you lock the height to. The footplate also has an additional adjustment, it can be left in the rocking position or locked in a position most comfortable for the user. The two side wing-nuts are for locking the height adjustment and the front foot operated pedal is for locking the footplate position.If you are looking for a wide sturdy footrest with removable rubber face for cleaning, I will thoroughly recommend this product made by Acco UK Ltd.

I had this at work in the office. Now that I also work from home, I bought it for home use. There is another version that doesn't tilt but I really like this one. Highly recommended!

I have found this to be a godsend being able to adjust the height means that i can sit at my home built odd height desk very comfortably with my feet supported. There was a little self assembly required but was a matter of moments. the height setting guide works really well and unlike some others i have had no issue with the height dropping. I tend to keep the swivel on as i like the ability to rock my feet from time to time. but i did use it locked for a week and experianced no issue with it unlocking. When i decided to unlock it i just knocked the catch with my heel and hey presto done. it is sturdy and does not feel like it will fall apart in five minutes unlike some other feet rest. the "nobbly" foot pad feels nice under my socks. this is quite a wide device but as i am of the larger persuasion i tend to have my feet slightly further apart and have no issues with it. all in all a very good purchase that i would recommend to anyone

This footrest can be tricky. It is lockable but one can easily knock off the lock accidentally. It is also very large and not quite necessary for the average person. It is so big that two people can rest their feet on it when only one person can sit in front of the screen at a time. But it did solve the problem for my legs which went tired easily without the footrest. I would suggest a smaller adjustable footrest. What is adjustable is the angle - not the height! You want a lockable, adjustable, smaller footrest than this one, and cheaper too..

My colleague at work had been complaiing of a sore back - we wondered if it might be that her legs were not in the correct position, like me she is small and so, like me, tends to sit with them resting on the legs of the swivel computer chair. So, I purchased this for her, it came the next day which surprised me and as she wasn't in that day I tried it myself, I must admit it did make a difference and I was reluctant to let her have the thing when she got back to work. She loves it and it has made a difference to the way she sits and she does not complain about her back anymore. It could be a placebo effect - I don't know - but its kept her in work and fit and healthy and that was my main concern, so well worth the money.

This thing is enormous giving your feet plenty of space to move around. Solid construction.Height is highly adjustable by unscrewing the knobs on the sides. There are colour coded guides to help you match the height levels on both sides without any guesswork. The locking lever at the front lets you either lock the preferred angle in place or rock the footrest back and forth.Black rubber sheet on top is removable allowing you to rinse it when needed. The raised bumps on the sheet don't seem to bother me even when I rest bare feet or with socks on them.The downside for me is the plasticky 'new car' smell from the rubber sheet which I hope will be gone soon.
