Good, get's cool but definitely not super cool/cold
It's quite good. It feels cool to the touch but definitely not cold. I was hoping to use it at times on my pillow when I get a migraine, but I am not sure it is cool enough for that. In the mean time my bunny sort of likes it. He still seems to prefer using a cold tile to lie on or a glass shelf. Not sure what about the pad he finds less appealing, but he has used it maybe twice since we got it a little while back. I left it out for him in the spot he likes to sit in when it was hot, and he still chose a glass shelf to lie on instead. I guess it just depends on the pet, but I will be using it in his enclosure on hot days, so I don't think it is a waste. If you found my review helpful, please can you let me know by clicking yes.

The cat won't get off it!
I have a Ragdoll cat, which is a large breed with an enormous amount of long hair. In this heatwave that we're having she has really struggled with the heat. I ordered the medium size mat for her, which is the perfect size. I took it out of the box and placed it straight on the floor. It wasn't hugely cool, but I knew that it probably needed to 'recharge'. I popped the cat on it and she was indifferent to it and walked away. About an hour later I felt the mat and you could feel that it was a lot cooler. Popped the cat back on it, where she was giving me evil looks for disturbing her slumber, when you could actually see the realisation on her face that the mat was cool! She laid down on it and she's only briefly left it to use her litter box. She has been very restless in the heat, but has been sound asleep for last 3 hours on the mat! She is cool and absolutely loves it. I shall be ordering another one, so she can have another upstairs to move to. I really can't recommend this product enough. It works better than other water actived or gel pads that I've had in the past, and you can speed up the recharging of it by putting cold water on it or putting it in the freezer. The medium mat folds in half for easier storage too. The only thing that may cause an issue for other cat owners, is that it says if the mat becomes perferated, then it should be replaced. So some cats might destroy it quickly if they tend to sink their claws into things. It looks like a durable cover on it, so I think they would really have to claw it hard to or consistent clawing to do any damage.

It's good for humans' burning feet especially if you chill the pad first
It came in its own box, unpackaged and with the address label/barcode stuck over some of the instructions - not a huge problem, and I appreciate the absence of silly excess packaging. I actually don't own a dog, (and am assiduously keeping my cats away from the pad), because it was bought with my sore, burning feet in mind, specifically for night-time. The first night I found the pad lovely and cool at first, but after a couple of hours, all parts of the pad were rather warm; having said that, we were in the middle of a heat wave. The second night, I'd chilled the pad in the fridge all day and had a much more cool and comfortable night. The following night I didn't use the fridge by day, thinking it's not ideal to have in the fridge a pad that my feet had been on all night, and instead took up a frozen freeze-board (Thermos, 800g size, Amazon less than £5) to lay on the pad and chill it before I turned in for the night, and this worked really well. The pad has a soft, satin-y feel to it, and I've tried it both with and without a pillow case, preferring it without one, (my feet never sweat so doesn't need absorbent cover) as you access the cool more directly; this is obviously a matter of personal taste. This was bought to replace a cheaper chill pad which had gone hard after a couple of years, and I will continue my practice of keeping the pad hygienic by wiping every week or so with a baby wipe.

It's a good product... If your dog gets on it
I bought this for my 10month old Yorkshire terrier for when it was very hot for a few days. I only did this because I couldn't think of anything else to keep him cool. The mat does work however it cools down by putting pressure onto it. Now my dog isn't very heavy so when I put him on it I wasn't to sure if it was working for him.I did stand on it and it was slightly cold. This is all well and good but my puppy just doesn't want to sit on it. I've tried putting it in his basket and in his sleeping spots but still he doesn't sit on it.The only good thing is that you can put it in the freezer and it won't damage the product. If you have a lager one then mine I have do idea how you would put it in the freezer because I did struggle. If you can get your dog onto it then it is a great product.

Surprisingly good and cool
A quality product that works surprisingly well. Just put your hand on it and you can feel the cold. Just a shame my dog doesn't seem to realise it's cooler for him! However, hide it inside a duvet cover and he doesn't mind the feel of it and seems to appreciate the colder surface.

Not sure how much it cools, but is good for the car
Quality looks ok, not sure how good it cools, but its waterproof and suitable for the car. I think its a bit pricey, hence 4 stars.

Essential First Aid for dogs.
Essential first aid bit of kit. This cool mat brought the dog's temperature down enough to convert laboured rasping breathing and panting down to settled comfortable quiet calm sleeping within three minutes. We folded it to fit into her car seat, and again to go on the car back seat or on the ground when needed. We bought the large size for our 8.5 kg Pug which was larger than needed but we knew if it it was needed we needed all paws and underbelly on it to succeed. On holiday in France this month, she got very hot with lots of walking and the temperature in general. Being a short nosed breed she struggled with breathing, panting and wheezing which can lead to collapse in some dogs. This cool mat immediately cooled her to a comfortable temperature. The large size is quite heavy to carry around but ideal to have in the car, hotel or home. It's gel makes it comfortable too. We used it in her car seat from France to UK and she didn't once snore or make any breathing sounds as she was very comfortable. We used it in temps up to 26 degrees. This is worth every penny when I think it could have prevented collapse or worse.
