Good product, easy to use , good selection of colours, couldn’t see the mend in the leather

I bought this product to repair a small 1.5" hole, and some scratches (courtesy of my dog!) on the seat of one of my leather armchairs.Having read all the reviews, & taking on board the useful tips, I started my repair. The hardest thing was the colour match. My suite is a rich chestnut, but in bright sunlight looks maroon. It took about half an hour to mix, and I needed very little of the colour for the area. I put some on a test area on the back of the chair. The tear was fixed with the adhesive, and left over night, then topped with the matched colour, and stencilled with the paper provided. I did this carefully while wet, rather than leaving it on till dry, and the same with the scratches. When dry, I buffed it with a little ox blood/brown shoe polish to bring back the shine.Considering the cost, the product has saved me a lot of money. It has repaired the seat, and unless you were looking for it you wouldn't know it had been. Take time and care using it, then the results should be favourable

This product required a lot more white and this is the main colour needed to mix with the other colours so as a result it wasn' enough to cover what I wanted to cover. The vinyl included should have had biege included as well. The only two colours included were white and black.

The first time I used this, I messed up and made completely the wrong colour and the repair stuck out like a sore thumb. Before it fully cured, I wiped it off and started again. Spent a bit more care and time and now people comment how they can barely see the repair. Its makes a very strong repair too. My rip was on the leather of my drivers seat where the leather meats the plastic molding and it's almost as strong as it was before.

I got this product today, I bought 2 thinking it would provide enough to do the long rips in my car seat. The repair patch is tiny 3x3 inches and you only get 1 repair patch!!! The paints look like cheap acrylic paints used in school and the size of the pots are very small indeed; about 1 inch wide and 1 inch deep. I was aware of the patch size and mainly got this thinking the paints would be worthwhile for the repair. Not enough paint is provided. A waste of time and money... maybe I will be able to do 1 rip using this kit however it will take me hours as the "leather effect pads" you stick over the top are also 3x3 so I will have to do it 3 inches at a time... what a stingy product. They must be making 90% profit making these.Get this for a small rip but don't bother if you need this for anything over 3inches. I just wish it said how stingy this kit was in the description...UPDATE:I used this kit today and my seats look terrible. I have just ordered some custom made leather seat covers instead. DO NOT use this for big rips it wont work. My car seats are a right state now. At least I found some good seat covers that look exactly like the factory seats to hide this mess...

Whereas the vendor was quick with my order, I just didn't like the item at all. The kit was full of little bits and pieces but I found that the results that I obtained to be poor. The glue/filler didn't work and fell off when I sat on the seat.

I bought this product to mend a crack in my car seat caused by a fold stress. Due to the padding in the seat, I was unable to follow the instructions for the 'tear or rip' and had to just use the adhesive instead. That, however, seemed to provide a strong bond.The next stage, applying the colour compound, made a good job of the repair, I didn't have to mix any colours as my seat was black so I can't comment on those, but there seems to be no reason why they shouldn't be as good as the black.All in all, this product made a good job of the repair and I would recommend it for SMALL repairs as the mending patches are quite small.

As with other reviews we agreed that it would benefit from larger amounts of the base colours, in our case this was the white. However it has done a really good job of tiding a rip in a car seat. Obviously it is not completely invisible but has saved the tear from getting bigger and has disguised an ugly scar. Would definitely buy this again should we have any further accidents.
