An excellent book for knitters
An essential book for fair Isle knitting whether beginner or advanced. This book gives a comprehensive range of patterns sorted by stitch number so it's a very easy to match up combinations. The charts are very easy to follow. The photographs are good but some of the patterns are done on dark background so could have been a little clearer if done lighter.

Very useful
Very good directory of different fair isle designs, each one with the rows and stitch count, so you can easily see which ones can be combined to build up your own pattern. Also really useful tips on how to combine them successfully (placement, colour, etc). If I'm being nit-picky, a few more examples of design combinations would be brilliant.

Lovely Book
I'm very happy with this book. It has easy to follow instructions for the various techniques needed to knit Fair Isle. It also has charts for each of the 200 designs, shown in colour, making it really simple to replicate them. I've already embarked on a cardigan using several of the designs and I'm very pleased with how it's going. I therefore wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book.

Such a great book!
I wish I'd bought this a year ago when I fell into Fair Isle knitting. All the basic techniques clearly laid out in the first part of the book, then the patterns - oh the patterns! Colour photos all organised by row count and stitch count so you can quickly see where it will fit, with the chart and swatch and ideas for how to adapt it to a project. Ideas for colour combinations too. Like porn for knitters.....
