Opening with scenes of Enfield depot in the mid-sixties we see the great roundhouse chimneys belching smoke while 38s, Garratts, P Classes and Standard Goods are prepared for service. Featuring spectacular footage of: Double Garratts and double 36 Class locomotives climbing Fassifern. Double headers battling Hawkmount, the Short North’s steepest grade. Shots of the Newcastle Flyer hauled by 3820, 3822 and 3824. Early morning of on the Main South at Bowral and Moss Vale with 3810 on the Paper Train. 3802 in the last week of operations on the Main South. Rare footage of 3813 and 5910 double heading. The magnificent historic footage was professional shot on 16mm film and features the original soundtracks. This is a conversion from videotape of volume one produced in the early nineties by Train Movies. Overall three volumes were produced on videotape with this being the only volume to be transferred. This is a wonderful collection of memories from the sixties when steam was the motive force in NSW.I highly recommend this video to all those who love steam
