Read more

Eye opening but long-winded
I loved this book. Mr. Hitler gives a great review of WWI and the sociopolitical reasons that led to how he gained power in Germany among the people. Most folks think this book will be nothing but a few ramblings about how much he hates Jews, which is fair because that's what the jewish school system and media tell us, but that's not the case. There is a great account of the actions that took place in the early 1900th century Europe. He speaks of his culture and how he wishes to see it preserved for his people, not out of hate for others, but out of love for his own. This is not a book of bigotry and hatred, but a book of love and one man's decision to take the reigns and rid his culture of a perceived disease. The only complaint I have is that Hitler goes on these long-winded tangents, especially in the last chapter. Dude, we get it...you hate France. Other than that, this book lifted the veil of all the lies that have been laid in front of me for the last 30 years of my life.Remember: the victors write history, and as Voltaire said: "To find out who rules over you, simply discover who you may not question."

Hard to Get Through
I LOVE History! I love to read everything about history and visit museums. it means a lot to me. I thought it would be great to buy this book and read it to kind of get an idea of what Hitler was thinking during this time. From a Historical point of view, it is what it is. I would not read this book a 2nd time and I must say I kind of wish I had not read it the first time. Not what I thought it was going to be at all.

Significant to read
This is a significant book to read so we can all understand, from “the horse’s mouth”, the factors leading into the horrors of World War II. “If we don’t learn from history we are bound to repeat it”.

Atrocious Rhetoric, Good Historical Context
4 stars as the honest answer for the book being quite detailed and written, however never 5 stars. The mad man behind this book rambles his hate for an entire religion of people and murdered them in cold blood along with those that were swindled by this text. It is terrifying to read this book and even comprehend how someone could lose all morals to agree with some of the outrageous opinion that is spoken of in this book. It is a great book in that it pieces together how and why in history that an event could unfold in the manner it did. Never forget the lives lost during the dark years of Germany portrayed through this book.

content while still controversial does hold SOME truths, editing of book very bad
While Heir Hitler was correct about quite a few things and obviously wrong on many others, he did raise some valid observations for the issues affecting his country at the time the book was written. While many of these economic and scholastic points were right on point, he scapegoated large swaths of people for the problems, erroneously and tragically so. You can draw your own conclusions. The book is a fantastic read into the mind of a monster, and I found myself making copious notes. Unfortunately, the editing of the book is atrocious. There are numerous spelling and grammatical errors on almost every page, as well as paragraph and punctuation errors. Whoever edited this book from the translation did not proofread. There are nonsensical characters mixed in the words, bad formatting of Roman numerals, spaces where none should be and paragraph indents where none should be to name a few.

... which of the translations to go with and I'm glad I went with this one
I was trying to decide on which of the translations to go with and I'm glad I went with this one. The book is easy to read and follow although some of the sentences do tend to run on. Definitely worth a read.

Bascally unreadable.
Dislike content and writing style as interpreted.Perhaps better in German, but not the messages.Hateful. Poor thought processes.Recommend only to those who fear there is momentum building toward these goals again.Only read after hearing the current administration and its campaign was using similar tactics and philosophies.Avoid.

My Struggle review
This has been on my reading list for a very long time. I had to be in the proper mood to finally tackle it. It is equal parts fascinating and deadly dull. His insights into the uses of propaganda are among the more compelling passages. When the subject devolves into politics and history it can be a slow and tough read. I read it more for the psychology insights into the man and the hatred which would motivate his deeds during his brief period of power. One cannot help but see common threads which run through the minds of similar dictators and fascists who believe, as Hitler did, that they were under some divine mission to correct all the wrongs of the past administrations. Their path usually led to destruction and misery for the people he believed he was their protector. This narcissistic delusion is a common symptom of this blossoming madness. It was an illuminating reading experience but I doubt that I would ever reread it.
