Q: Is the sole very flexible? Looking for a good barefoot feel similar to merrell trail runners but winter focused

They’re the most uncomfortable thing on the planet. The ankle bit was so stiff that I couldn’t even bare to try them on. Returns was a nightmare as they expected me to pay to send them back to China, then they offered a half refund. Finally got a full refund when I threatened to report them to amazon. Wouldn’t touch the shoes or the seller with a 10ft bargepole

Q: is there any undrfoot padding in these, or are they basically plimsoll style soles?

There isn't much padding. They are barefoot shoes. My main problem with them is they are hard to get on. Once on they are fine

They will probably fit. They are certainly good and wide

It's more rigid than other parts of the boot. However, it's still flexible.
