KEENMen's NXIS EVO Waterproof Shoe

The KEEN NXIS EVO Waterproof shoes live up to their name, keeping feet reliably dry even in damp conditions. Surprisingly comfortable for a waterproof shoe, they offer good support for extended wear. An added bonus I discovered is their excellent traction and low profile make them surprisingly adept for tasks like cutting the grass, providing a stable and secure grip. If you need a versatile shoe that handles wet weather and yard work with comfort, these are worth considering.

Bought these in a 12 and thought they’d stretch out. They did not. I am true 12, but somehow a 13 in these. The 13’s fit perfectly

Tl;dr - 230lb man on my feet for 10 days across Europe in 90+ degree heat, heavy rain several days, and 10+ miles of walking a day - zero issues. Carrying a heavy backpack full of a complete set of Scuba gear all day, and trekking through the Rain Forrest’s of Costa Rica were also handled with ease. Solid, throughly tested piece of equipment - but with confidence.Our Europe trip had a dark cloud over it - a storm system was moving through Hungary and Austria during our planned vacation. Having had stellar experience with Keen in the past, I looked for a last minute waterproof, yet breathable shoe for the 10 day adventure and settled on this shoe. I ordered it on Amazon Prime, and it showed up just in time for the trip. I didn’t have time to break the shoe in, and wore it the next day to the airport as the only pair of shoes I brought on the trip.The shoes are comfortable, light, absolutely waterproof, have solid traction for on and off road excursions - and they breathe well. Keep in mind, this is a waterproof shoe - if you expect it to breathe like a pair of crocs, or a knit running shoe - those aren’t reasonable expectations. It breathes far better than a pair of leather shoes, and will out perform (breathability) most traditional running/walking shoes that aren’t specifically designed to have high levels of breathability. Given that this is a waterproof shoe - that’s a big deal…. But again, have reasonable expectations.Despite nearly every day being 90+ degrees with tropical levels of humidity, these shoes (with quality wool socks) were never uncomfortably hot and were essentially a non-issue.I’m always impressed with the quality of Keen products, and this continues the trend. I wish they made a “made in America” option for this style of shoe - as their American made lines are a meaningful and worthwhile investment in heightened levels of quality - but I digress.This shoe outperformed my expectations, and was an absolute treat to travel with. Highly recommend.

These are soft and comfortable from the moment you put them on. My feet are in between normal and wide and I often have problems with the fit because of it. These shoes are perfect for me. My personal preference would be for just a touch more arch support (something I can remedy with Superfeet down the road as needed) and a bit less heel slip - I do have narrow heels.But these are the keepers for comfort alone - I can wear them on the street and park as well as hiking. Great product!9/27/2023 Update - just came back from England, Ireland, Scotland trip. Waterproofing is excellent, zero leaks. Traction is excellent - only when I took chances to get a good photo shot and wandered into wet grass on a hill or wet clay did I feel like slipping a bit but I would expect anything but spikes to do that. I was also able to catch myself from falling so traction worked. The comfort just kept getting better and the shoes formed to my feet and I the heels are not slipping as much but still not as tight as I would have liked. Wear is great as well even though I wore them on pavement quite a bit. For comparison, I also used Brooks Ghost 15 gtx and you can see the wear on the bottoms already ( but they were lighter and a touch more comfortable). If I were to bring one pair it would have been Keens without a doubt. I still felt that arch support could be a bit better but have not felt any feet pain so maybe Keen knows something that I don't.
