Simple Designs LD1002-BLU Gooseneck Organizer Desk Lamp with iPad Tablet Stand Book Holder, Blue

Got this for the desk on my daughter’s loft bed and it’s perfect. Only issue is it arrived with a couple of dings and a small area of missing paint on the shade. But my daughter doesn’t care so no biggie.

-The shade gets hot quickly with 40 watt bulb. I worry it will melt one day like the other buyers said. The base says 40 watt max, but the sticker inside the shade says 60 watt.-The shade turns half transparent when the light is on. This is a bit disturbing to the eyes.-The lamp is plastic but well built. But the shade I received is a bit defective. When the light is turned on, I see a vertical line half way cross the shade. When the light is off, the line disappears. Not sure if this is what other buyers' complaints of scratches. But I wouldn't bother to return it or get a replace.With all that said, I like its compartments. Not pretty, but functional for me. For those who only use the lamp for a short time every time, I even recommend it for its sale price at $11.50.

The on off button is a nice toggle, but the cups are super small. Maybe fit some paper clips in there, definitely no pens. Good for value though, gave it to my kid to help with homework

The bottom had a piece of plastic broken off and you could see the weight in the underside. The weight is probably the source of the damage.

Perfect for the dorm room.

Ordered this lamp for the desk I recently purchased, and I have to say I like it very much. I read a lot of the reviews on here saying how lamps were melted and broken within a few weeks or even one day of use, but I also read many that said they were using the wrong (or otherwise unspecified) light bulb in the lamp. I was confident I could follow directions, so I took a chance and ordered it anyhow. Mine came in orange, and I love the color.I went to the local Walmart to find a bulb and this is the reason it's 4 instead of 5 stars: I had a lot of trouble finding the right size. It specifies 15W MAXIMUM for the bulb, but most of the 15W bulbs were night light sized. I wanted to make sure to get a LED bulb as well; I read those give off less heat and are more energy efficient. The only trouble was that there were several types, and I wasn't sure exactly how to convert a normal 15W bulb to a LED type bulb, since the packaging states that they use far less than 15W to run a "60W equivalent" (or less, there was a variety). I ended up purchasing a GE 60W Replacement, that runs on 11W. I figured I would try it out and if it melted my lamp or didn't work or fit, I would just be out a little money and I would buy a different lamp I could fit the bulb into directly from Walmart. When I brought it home and put it in the lamp, I kept a very close eye on it to make sure it wasn't getting warm or making the shade warp in any way, and I'm happy to report it was fine, even after 3 hours of use that night and a few hours (at minimum) per day since then, and it is running fine and not warped, melted, or broken in any way.Make sure you READ the instructions and FOLLOW them, and this product should work just fine. It comes in nice colors, and it is a good size to fit on a desk that doesn't have much space. (Mine is a compact desk, so the organizer area was just a huge bonus to help me keep my things in order.) There isn't a ton of room in the organizer compartments, but it's nice that it holds a tablet or a large smartphone so you can watch things on the side of your desk if you are working at the computer.Overall I like this product and I would order it again! If I could make one change, it would only be adding a chart to the instructions to convert different types of bulbs so you know what to buy. That was a bit of a pain, but worth it in the end.

Bought for Christmas for my 10 year old daughters desk and she abso loves it. There's different slots and the base of it to store pencils and pens or jewelry. Great product

We used this lamp for years and it worked well. First....you must use the correct bulb or you'll burn the plastic. We made that mistake so I ordered another. After 4, yes 4 orders, everyone Amazon sent us was scratched and used. So just because why not, I've ordered another demanding they send me a new one. They've been cooperative and refunded my money each time. For the love of God, stop sending used lamps to people! Will my latest attempt to get an unused one be successful? I really hope so because otherwise it's a good lamp for my kids."A few months later".....They never did send me a new one. I did however keep the slightly scratched used one they sent. The lamp works well. I'm not sure they have any new ones in stock. Good lamp otherwise for the kids.

Love that it comes in so many colors. Perfect for a desk. Can get really hot which can be an issue with kids but otherwise happy with this lamp. Orange can be hard to find so glad this was available in a cool color.

Sturdy, excellent organizer as well for pencils, pens etc... The lime green color tied in perfectly to my son's lime green bean bag chair, he loves his lamp. Gives off a great light on his desk when completing homework.

Liked everything about lamp.Note that you supply own light bulb. Other than that the desk light works great and love the holder for my tablet and cell phone too 💖👍

I ordered this lamp because it looks cute, and the base has little compartments to hold things.Unfortunately, it arrived with a malfunction. The actual switch to turn the light ON/OFF wouldn't budge , It's like it's glued in place. weight inside the lamp base is loose and knocking around too .So, of course I decided on a replacement with the exact same lamp. BIG mistake.! Second one arrived broken and the lamp is detached from the base, and again the weight is loose and knocking around. It boils down to it being made with thin, cheap plastic.Don't buy it. It's not worth the time, the money or the frustration of having to return it.!Second one arrived broken
