I recently purchased a tripod to stabilize my rifles when shooting in the field. Due to advancing age and health conditions (e.g., 3 shoulder surgeries), I can’t hold a rifle as long or steady as I could 40 years ago. It seems there is now a standard dove-tail type interface to mount things (cameras, lights, firearms, etc.) to tripods called the Acra-Swiss plate. This particular device attaches to the M1913 Picatinny rail on a rifle’s forearm, which then clamps securely into the mount on the top of the tripod. The mounting block requires at least 6 slots of M1913 rail to clamp to.The machining and finish quality of this mounting block is excellent. I will need versions for M-Lok and Key-Mod as well to adapt to various styles of MSR handguard.

I used this to mount my hunting rifle to a tripod. Allowing a stable shooting platform. Easier target acqusition and more accurate shot placement.

I purchased this for my crossbow so o could use on my bog death grip. Now I’ve upgraded from the original saddle for a arca system so i could easily switch for my rifles.
