Iodine is a natural water purifier. The Lugol's iodine was developed by Joseph Lugol's in 1824. Lugol's iodine is excellent for use as a vegetable and fruit wash. Since the body requires the element of iodine for essential body functions, use of Lugol's iodine as a vegetable wash and water purifier has been recommended for decades. Our Lugol's iodine is made weekly and we use only mined crystals. If the taste of iodine as a water purifier is bitter, it is recommended you add a vitamin c to improve the taste. We use potassium iodide which was one of the key ingredients in the original formula created by Joseph Lugols. We use ACS grade crystals to make our Lugol's iodine. ACS is the highest and purist grade given for iodine/iodide.
