An excellent book delivered promptly.
This book was a very helpful book. It made a difficult subject - to a non specialist - accessible and even amusing at times. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to improve their health and well being.

The book that is a must
This is a must for everybody. I was given this book in German a year ago... and bought at least 12 copies to give to all my German speaking family, friends and patients. I asked the German publisher when this might be coming out in English, so I could give to everybody who does not speak English... and here it is. I think I am a bit sad about the title 'Gut'... because in German it is called something like the 'Charming bowls...gut'... It is funny. Written for the 'likes of me' but totally scientific and equally fabulous for scientists. I was stunned to learn... but hang on... I won't tell. Otherwise it is not a surprise anymore when you are reading facts you never knew! I have already bought many English copies... and will buy some more... Much of the British Press got it wrong... again... stressing mainly the German habit of knowing what kind of poos they produce... the thing is... they have different toilets from our English ones...But they never said how amazing all the other facts you probably didn't know about before. As I said: this book is simply a must. It is amazing that someone so young is so brilliant. I wish they'd emphacise this more on everyday news. Instead of always nothing but bad news. There are brilliant youtube films with Giulia Enders... watch.

One of the most interesting and helpful books I have ever read
This book changed my life but don't get me wrong this is NOT a self help book nor a diet book. It simply tells you about the Gut. The information is both useful and interesting. I made a couple of changes to my lifestyle based on some of things that I read in the book and I can say I feel far better for it.It is written in a very informal chatty style which makes reading it a pleasure. Being translated from German to English certainly didn't affect my enjoyment and I don't think I would have noticed had I not been aware of this. Some parts are more complex to understand (for me anyway) and I had to read them again, but I don't see this as a negative,in fact the opposite, I would rather be slightly challenged to understand something. But the main thing for me is that the book is fascinating, so full of interesting and unusual facts that I wanted to immediately find someone to say 'Did you know.......?

Enjoyable & Simple
This is an enjoyable, but not particularity challenging book - it's not full of medical jargon for example, and instead is easy to understand, which is key with these types of book. If you're buying a book to learn more about your gut, you need to be able to understand it, otherwise it's pointless, and this is the experience with other medical books that I've read - not so with this one. It didn't take me long to complete, and has left me with a new understanding of the inner-workings of my digestive system! Have already passed it onto a friend, who is also enjoying it.

a must for anyone with digestive issues
As a diagnosed sufferer of IBS i have read tonnes of books about digestion but I never really felt like I got to the bottom ( no pun) as to why it was happening . The LOW FODMAP book by Sue shepherd did give one of the most detailed accounts I have read , but I felt like I needed more information . This book has proven to be the book of all books for me . People have commented how badly written it is , I think they may have been reading the German to English early translation as I have found no problems with the way it is written . In fact I think it is brilliantly written , and the facts!!!! Well I could not put it down .. I kept interrupting my husbands game of thrones viewing to tell him why I tend to want to kill him when stomach is playing up .. To anyone with digestive issues I urge you to read this as it is the best book I have read by far

This book is so good I'm reading it again
This book is so good I'm reading it again. Geeeeek! I even bought it for my sister who has similar problems, which we now know are all related to the gut - mind and body. Our mum didn't breast feed us and I had to have my daughter by C section - I had no option, but I think if people do they would think twice about their choices. Having done Nutritional science at catering college some 20 years ago there is so much more to learn and it is fascinating. Giulia makes it interesting and funny and surprisingly readable for such a scientific subject. This book has encouraged me to to a 'Gut diet', after my IBS came back after 6 years. And also to look after my daughter's gut, as until she cook s for herself what she eats it is my responsibility.I would recommend this to anyone, because I think everyone suffers from something to do with their microbiome. You'd be surprised. Avidly waiting for more research to uncover more gut secrets.

Want to learn about your gut?
This is a great book if you are new to "the gut" or already know a lot about gut health. The author has done a good job at presenting scientific/medical information in an interesting and educational manner. This should probably be a book that all high-school kids should read as it will give them a lot of reasons as to why to make healthy food choices and how food impacts our gut and therfore our overall health - for life. I found it a fascinating read, learnt a lot and now know why healthy poo is brown in colour!

Tout qu'il faut savoir sur l'intestin (en anglais)
Super-bon livre. Des vrais détails de ce qui passe dans l'intérieur de nos corps quand on mange quelleque chose., mais il se faire lire comme un roman. Très très intéressant.Amazing and informative book on what happens inside us when we eat something but it reads like a novel, very chatty. Very interesting and fun!
