Magical -needs more than one person
Very cute. We got this after having the nutcracker. It was fun interactive thing the whole family did together for Christmas. The jungle book is just as beautiful. However it is hard to do with a small child & by yourself.

Difficult to use but cool
This product is hard to maneuver with just one hand. When you are shining a light and flipping pages and holding the book with hand, it gets a bit precarious. It is nicely made and if you can get the right light set up, it’s really cool. I just wish it came with a light that clipped on so you have both hands for telling the story.

A little awkward to use with only one person, but the shadows are fun!
This is a fun way to project shadows onto the wall, even if the shadows aren't really interactive - there are several "pages" which you turn, shine the flashlight through, and tell a story. The shadows in the book aren't moveable (i.e. you can't pull a tab or anything to make the bear dance or anything like that) but they do look neat on the wall.It is hard to use with just one person working the book/flashlight. There are little pieces of paper that you hold up to the parts of the book that you aren't using so they don't show up in the shadow before you are ready for it, but they are loose pieces of paper so you have to hold them while also holding the book and directing the shadow. There would be ways to make it easier - taping two pieces of paper together so it sits on top and doesn't fall down, but you still would need to have the flashlight sitting somewhere where you don't need to adjust it, so you can hold the book on both ends stretched out to the correct page. If you have multiple children, this would be a good group activity - one holding each end and one working the flashlight, and maybe one to tell the story? It is a cool nighttime activity, but it does take a little bit of work!

Wonderful storybook set
Open this storybook out to see four double scenes from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, or turn the pages with the enclosed sheet of white paper between the pages. You can also use the scenery with the company's shadow puppet figures for more elaborate retelling of the story. Ypoiu can even use a flashlight or cell phone to project the story onto the walls of a darkened room.Any of the options give you a wonderful basis for storytelling. I love The Jungle Book, but the company also makes lots of other fairy tales and classics of children's literature. The design is impressive and the idea is magical. Check out their website for a video showing exactly how to use the book, or let your creativity guide you.For my little grandchildren, this is definitely a product for an adult to use with a child. Older kids might enjoy it on their own.

Both educating and entertaining
We have an additional kit from the same company of Jungle Book shadow puppets that go beautifully with this set, and I highly recommend using both together if possible. It allows for more interaction with your children, especially if you have more than one kiddo. This kit allows your child or children to enjoy the mystery of shadows in an educating and entertaining way. My children have absolutely loved evening story time using this shadow theater. It is sturdy and well built. I have no doubt it will last a good amount of time with adult supervision.

Very Interesting
This is such a neat book! My son and nephew use it at night and make up their own stories. It is made of a thick cardstock paper. You have to angle your flashlight just right to get an even shadow image. This inspired my little ones to create their own. Very interesting find.

The story literally unfolds
This unique storybook comes in a sturdy slipcase. The story literally unfolds through eight scenes cut out from sturdy cardboard. An abbreviated written version of the story is provided to accompany the silhouettes. The scenes may be projected onto a wall or ceiling using a flashlight. Using the flashlight app on a cell phone produced clear silhouettes. This was not the case when using standard flashlights. The scenes were fuzzy. Though the book is made of sturdy cardboard, the cutouts need to be handled with care to avoid damage.
