Q: Is this product Debittered or Original?

According to Walmart, the only ingredient is Debittered Brewer's Yeast.

Q: Where are the ingredients sourced from, ie, from which country?

It's manufactured by Ideasphere, Inc. American Fork, UT 84003. 1-800-645-5626.

Q: Has anyone actually used this yeast to do some brewing? (making beer etc). People seem to be eating this stuff, which sounds pretty bizarre.

I tried using it to brew with, and got a zero result. I did not read anywhere that this is 'Dead Yeast in a Jar'. But, that's what it is. What I did, fortunatly, was to try to make a yeast starter before brewing and pitching. Got zero activity twice! Although I don't eat it, I decided to use it as a yeast nutrient for my light beers and Mead. When brewing a light beer, I put in a heaping tablespoon in the boil. When I make a Mead I put two heaping tablespoons in a little water and boil for a few minutes, then pitch into the must just before adding the active yeast. I hope this helps. ~Carl
