I watch the youtube channel from time to time and knew Huw Richards tutorials to be very good., so I took a gamble on the hype. And I'm really glad I did.I am in my third year of creating a kitchen garden. This book has already helped me figure out my planning mistakes and I've only had it two days.Its thoughtfully organised and covers everything you need to start growing your own food. There are monthly sowing guides, which are a much better way to wrap your head around sucession planting.It also includes plans for hoop and hot beds, and even fermentation recipes for gluts.I can see this being on my book shelf for many years.It would make a great present.

Like many others, I’ve been regularly and avidly watching Huw’s YouTube videos, following his own allotment progress, and taking on his many tips and tricks for growing healthy fruit and veg. I do like that Huw and Sam work on a relatively small plot, yet have trialed and experimented over the past couple of years to now have the knowledge and experience to confidently share their practical skills with us - so we can all benefit, and confidently head towards attaining a self-sufficient garden for ourselves.This book is sensibly structured, and set out in a clear, easy-to-understand way, which makes it a joy to read and browse through. It’s chock-full of useful, practical information. I particularly like the detailed garden/allotment layout plans, together with the month-by-month growing suggestions. Of course, once you have harvested your various vegetables, fruits and herbs etc, there are some inspiring recipes to try out,and some invaluable suggestions on preserving and storing your produce. All in all, I’m very impressed with this publication, so I have no hesitation in recommending it to you good folks.🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Been following these two on YouTube for a bit now and was intrigued by the month-by-month calendar - and wow is it a game changer! Worth buying the book just for that tbh - but there are some great recipes in it too - super easy and well photographed. Doubt I'll get as much produce as they did as I'm a total novice - but there are bags of ideas in here to try, which will make the journey fun at least!

The included list of plant substitutes is especially helpful for those times when you may not have the exact ingredients called for in a recipe.

I really like the way Huw writes his books, let's just say I have more than one of his books....The gardening year is broken down into months and what needs to be sown, transplanted and harvested.I don't have all the different areas detailed but I found this book enjoyable to read and gain more knowledge.Happy veg grower

If you only want to buy one vegetable gardening book, this is the one. Lots of photos, facts and explanations. Huw is just as good writing as he is talking/showing on his YT channel.
