Nice Beginning Uke for the Price
This Uke was a pleasant surprise. The sound was good, the Uke itself was well made (the yellow color was beautiful), the strings were easy to break in and held tune rather quickly. This was bought for an 11 year old beginner as their first instrument. Nice instrument for a very affordable price.

Good for the price
I play guitar, and thought a uke would be fun. It is, a uke is freaking adorable and an amazingly chipper instrument. It made me appreciate guitar more though, guitar has its many moods and complexities. Anywho, the melokia is a fine instrument, it took a week or so for the strings to go more than 10 minutes without being tuned. Also, ukes are very quiet with their nylon strings. As far as looks, it looks ok. The color is less natural than i'd hoped for. Its more red than it is in the pic.Really, i just wanted a cheap toy to play with. If you want a high quality uke, you'll have to spend more than $30.

Good BEGINNER instrument
Didn't hold the tuning, but for a beginner, it's a decent instrument. If a student is serious, they will quickly outgrow the quality of this uke. Excellent starter instrument though.

Very Nice Instrument to have
My son is currently learning this instrument in music class and loved it so much he asked for one of his own. He loves it.

Not the best for the price
I would not recommend this uke, even for a beginner....it is pretty, however the craftsmanship is not very nice and it is almost unplayable due to buzzing strings and sloppy fret jobs....It might be ok as a toy, however, I would suggest spending a little more money to get a more playable instrument such as a Makala Dolphin.
