This is the perfect rosary to celebrate a child's First Holy Communion. The beads are small (6mm) dark blue jasper which is a perfect size for a child. The Our Father beads are hammered metal cross beads. The center is two sided and the crucifix is a special celebration of the Eucharist. Both pieces hail from an area of Italy well known for their silversmithing. The Hail Mary and Our Father beads are separated by tiny glass and fluted metal beads. It is strung on heavy duty jeweler's wire, double crimped with wire guards for durability. In addition, a small pocket rosary (1 decade) is included using the same jasper beads. The medal on the pocket rosary is two-sided ~ Eucharist on one side and Holy Spirit on the reverse. A pocket, or one-decade, rosary is a great way to encourage a child to begin saying the rosary.
