The desk feels very solid. Made with solid wood or laminated plywood where the edges don't show. It comes in two large boxes. The hutch comes fully assembled in one box and the two pedestals and other bits in the other. Assembly takes about an hour and involves bolts and embedded nuts. There is no particle board or flimsy connectors like you will find on IKEA products.The bottom 2 handles on each side are actually hanging file drawers, The other four are individual drawers with movable partitions. The center drawer has convenient partitions including a pencil slot. It is not a keyboard pullout.
