Q: Would it be advisable to cut patches out of this 6" x 25" film roll and use on spots where a Saris Bones 2 bike rack makes contact with trunk+bumper?

I'm inclined to say yes. I cut patches out of the 3M Clear Bra Paint Protection Film roll for the spots where my Yakima landing pads make contact with my car paint.

yes, wet it down as you lift a corner on the underneath surface. There are how to videos on utube..

The adhesive is very tacky so it would definitely stick but how long it stays on would depend on the surface finish of the wood. It would stick much better to a sanded smooth and finished wood than it would to a rough sanded board. Surface prep is key to getting anything to stick to something else.

the answer is yes if you are doing a flat or slightly curved surface, If your doing the area behind the handle, there are special die cut pcs. for that purpose.

made a big mistake!!

partly my mistake that I ordered this. They seem to have manually cut a small patch from a large roll. It seems it is being shipped from the US directly. I would recommend local brands for such small patches. Too pricey for such a small piece of basic quality ppf. It is not even that thick.
