Great for me, not sure about the neighbours!
I got this as a first ever adventure into the Bodhran, and while I can't compare it with other drums for value or playability, I can say that I'm very happy with it. It ticks the boxes you should apparently look for in a starter drum, it's goatskin, it's tuneable (ie you can adjust the tension of the skin). It has one cross member. The skin is quite sensitive to finger and hand use at the back: you can really hear the octave shift using one fingertip, for example. Undamped, it's surprisingly loud, but for practising your beater technique you can cut this back quite effectively by muting with your other hand.

Excellent Drum for the price and tuneable at that
Excellent Drum for the price and tuneable at that. Purchased a cheaper larger one initially but the quality was terrible compared to this one. The previous purchase was more like it had been thrown together where as this drum is far superior. Good tone too. Recommended as a starter drum

Buy it if your a beginner
Great bodhran if you are a beginner, also comes with a bag and tipper. My teacher was impressed with it for the price.
