Great Soldering Kit
I needed a new soldering kit after my previous one of 10 years stopped working. I've had a laptop which has been sitting on the side which needed some repair via soldering and had been procrastinating doing this.As a standalone soldering kit this works great. How this toolkit is not just a soldering kit, it comes with multiple other parts and tools such as:- screwdriver with various attachments for any regular cross or vertical screw.- Multimeter- Soldering iron- Soldering pouchThe aftersales service has also been great, whereby they've sent some useful PDFs on using the product. There are however two ways this product can be significantly improved:1. The screwdriver set that is supplied can improve its design. Instead of putting all the screwdriver attachments inside the screw driver itself, why not create a space for it in the lid. This will prevent people from having the need to remove all the attachments and risk losing one.2. The case needs to be bigger. There's a lot of stuff going into this pouch. It needs more breathing space. Everything is so squashed, things can easily get damaged. It's also difficult to close unless you precisely position things.

Great for beginner
My bass guitar broke and I thought I'd try and fix it myself, I opened it up and found a connection had come loose and I reckoned I could fix it myself which given I hadn't touched a soldering iron since school 17 years ago was maybe a bit of a risk. Anyway I looked for the cheapest soldering iron I could find and this came up. Main positive points:1) You get a lot for your money as you can see in the photo, it really does include absolutely everything you need to get started2) It's really easy for even an absolute novice to use3) Part of the reason for 2 above is that it not only comes with a basic manual but the guys also email you a more detailed guide including tips, pictures, what to do/not do which was great.2 very minor issues:1) the stand is very unstable which means you need be careful not to get a hot soldering iron jumping at you if you're as clumsy as me,2) the screwdriver it comes with is a bit pathetic but at the end of the day no-one is ordering this for a screw driver. All in all, great value and really easy to use 5 stars, thanks.

For light use it's ok
I'm not someone who knows much about soldering so I think my opinion will be geared towards starters. It's a good kit if you want to learn soldering and you will have the required accessories at your disposal. I bought it to do some very basic stuff and after that it's been just resting in my garage until something comes up. A compact kit which is ok for normal use.

Great kit with plenty of bang for my buck !
Really excellent quality to this kit, it shows right from the case which is strong and well made. The Iron itself is good, nicely shaped for the hand. Various temps setable (200 - 450 C) and the bit heats rapidly. 5 additional shaped bits i haven't used them but they seem a good range of shapes ( covering flat, spade and needle). The iron's body doesn't get hot so that's good. Enough solder (tin/lead 40/60) to keep you busy for a while, and even a 'how to' solder guide - basic but well written. Desoldering vac. works fine. The multimeter ( battery included) is excellent and i like the back light feature - good instruction guide ( 1 page) for the meter.Wire cutter and stripper is not great but that's not a real problem. The stand is light and thin but supportive enough and as it fits in the case gives you a totally portable kit.All in all it is an excellent little kit that delivers on basic 'it can solder' and is packed with useful extras. very happy with the purchase

5 star kit
It's is 5 star kit at an affordable price. Surprised to find Digital multimeter included at the price. Stand for iron not good but considering prices everything summs up. Iron works well.

Not quite ... key feature not working
I bought this as a backup as I thought my long-in-use soldering iron was entering its last days. Turns out, my old one lasted a lot longer than anticipated. However, it finally gave up yesterday, some 9 months after I had bought this kit. So, out came the kit. I had used the multimeter - very good. The wire strippers - handy enough in a pinch. The multihead screwdriver had even got a bit of use. But this was the first time I fired up the Magneto Tools soldering iron. Nothing. The light came on, but no heat whatsoever. Dead as a dodo. Given that this was the main reason for purchasing this little kit, I'm more than a little disappointed. The kit is certainly a nice one for beginners, in theory, but I can't comment on anything about how quickly it heats, whether it holds its heat, whether the adjustable heat dial makes any difference at all. Will now replace it (too late to return it), but will choose another brand, and a more reliable brand (Weller - my old Weller has been a reliable tool since I was at school, and that was a looooong time ago).

Almost 4 stars
It's ok for the price, the iron is quite good, although I wonder if the temperature really is what the dial shows. I push it at least at 400 degrees when I use it to make it warm faster.Everything else is a bit disappointing. The solder pump is the usual super-cheap junk (replaced by something much better very quickly). The multimeter is not really better or more precise than my super-cheap one I got for 10 bucks in a supermarket. It just looks better. It's not bad at all, it's just decent considering the price but I expected a bit better. There is some lead-free soldering inside, always good to have some spare. The cable-cutter is a joke. It's not bad, it's just that in the end of the day, only the iron itself was quite satisfying for me.The pack is ok if you have nothing decent to work with at all, but otherwise.... It's probably better to pay 20 bucks more and get separately a 60w iron and a decent multimeter.
